Imperator: Rome is now available DRM-free.

With the death of Alexander the Great, his four successors are squabbling over his once sprawling empire. Make your own legacy as you navigate the politics, enforce your rule, or exploit the trade routes of a land in turmoil. Will you go with democracy or monarchy? Quash a rebellion or try to avoid it? Keep your citizens happy or subdued? History is waiting your move. Make it grand.

Grab the Deluxe Edition for the Art book, wallpapers, and the Hellenistic Flavor Pack.

This link should be to https://www.gog.com/game/imperator_rome_deluxe_edition

(Also, rather oddly I'm being shown 'USD Price: $54.99 ($̶5̶4̶.̶9̶9̶)'.)

Grand strategy ain't really my thing, but it's cool that this is here for those who like it.

Since Paradox and GOG seem to be on good terms how about bringing more of the former's back catalog to GOG? A certain Cities Skylines would make for a nice addition. ;)

Isn't this game just a reskinned EU Rome ?

Good terms ? what made you think that ? they din't even care to add the achievements for GOG version, while there are achievements for steam.

Let's see how much time it will take them to update the game here in comparison to steam, eh ? :D

Oh, and forget Cities Skylines, EUIV, CKII and HOI4. Not going to happen, not anytime soon. Good terms, eh ? hahaha

Wow - is this a Day One Paradox release? Nice - hope people enjoy it!

And if we can get a Day One of a shiny new one, can we get some corporate GoG / Para bigwigs locked up in a smoke filled room to work out some sort of Crusader Kings 2 "Complete" release? ;)

Come on, I KNOW you can do it - doesn't even have to be *all* the content - just a few of the "big" addons and slap like a $40 price tag on it. Pretty please? ;)
Does this have Galaxy Achievements? It doesn't say on the store page.

Oh come on, the game was available for pre order for months here on GOG. Unfortunately I did not (pre-order) and apparently missed out on a nice Pre-Order Deluxe Edition, which got dumped down to .. well, an artbook and wallpapers.

On the plus side: I wouldn't have much time to play this anyway.

ChrisGamer300: Like most of PDX titles, easy to learn and harder to master. Most of their games can be finished with basic knowledge if you are willing to read and learn a thing or two along the way and this looks similar.

Victoria Series is the one i would say is not as beginner friendly.

richlind33: Thanks!

So it comes with a manual, or is that the Deluxe Edition? ;p
heh, no actually there's no manual for any version. :P

game isn't too complicated either. well, there's no DLC for it yet, therefor there's ain't much in it yet to be considered complicated.

there's a tutorial, a broken tutorial, but still a tutorial.

no achievements for GOG Galaxy as far as i can tell.

but that's normal with paradox. there's no achievements for Stellaris either.

Another thing to know:

To play multiplayer, you need to sign into paradox account for that!

Everyone have to sigh in, to play multiplayer.

I think this info should be on the store page, not something to find out about after you buy the game.

Well if you have preorderd it can be only after and honestly it is Paradox. I would have been surprised if they would give their games completely DRM free to sale. Anyway I am happy to have it at least on GoG for Singleplayer DRM free.

It's too early to be happy about. The game is actually quite broken as of now.

Also, if you have played CKII in the past, you would know how bad the performance was mid-game to late-game. well, it's quite similar in this game, but right from the start, and it gets worse with time.

I'd wait before buying this new DLC platform.

Nah never played CKII before. First Paradox Game whas KoP&P, second whas KoP&P 2 Free Version, third whas KoP&P 2 Deluxiest Edition, fourth Battlech, fifth Stellaris. Last one only since it is on GoG so I have no Idea about what bad should be there, as a Rome enthusiast I am just happy to have another Rome Game DRM free.
