Rise of the machines.

UPDATE 2: The second hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! Yoko Takano joins the fray — born to protect and serve (for a price) she will spearhead the revolution in private military services!

UPDATE: The first hero DLC included in the Season Pass is out! You can now do battle as Yana "Tesla" Radovich, a self-taught genius and talented hacker, who relies both on her wits and her crazy hardware.

Hybrid Wars, a top-down shooter starring hulking machines and plenty of explodable enemies, is now available for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements.

In 2060, war is no longer a job for the meager foot soldier. Technology has given birth to a wide range of advanced killing machines, like tanks, robots, helicopters, and formidable mechs called Titans. As the Hybrid Wars break out, you'll find yourself commanding one such metallic monstrosity while roaming 8 expansive locations, filled with enemies to blow up and objectives to complete. Pick a hero, enter the belly of the beast you like best and equip it with the most efficient loadout. Quick reflexes and smart manoeuvres will go a long way but surviving consecutive waves of mechanized enemies and taking down towering bosses will take all the firepower you can muster.

Jump inside the cockpit of a futuristic war machine and join the Hybrid Wars, DRM-free on GOG.com.
If you want to gear up in full, pick up the Deluxe Edition, which includes an additional playable character, a digital art book, and the game's official soundtrack.
Two more hero characters are coming out in the following months, and you can recruit them now through the Season Pass.

If you like this style of isometric mech stuff and mayhem; consider looking at Brigador. 100 times better without question.

It is DRM free at itcio and humble... DLC and season pass not included.

JudasIscariot: A lot of game cards have long descriptions that require clicking "Read more" to expand them :P As for the fold (the fancy technical name for the "Read more" function :P) that's not going away thanks to whatever the web design standards that are in place these days :)

As for laziness that is purely PEBKAC :P
LOL!

I don't mind collapsibles like that overall in terms of the tech, but sometimes I wish there was an always-expand configuration option on websites or other things where they appear. When not available though it's certainly ripe for scripting with Greasemonkey or similar, or in the case of GOG, for trying to coerce BarefootMonkey or adaliabooks to add an option to their respective addons. :P

David9855: Interesting action game, but expensive and whats with the weird dlc/ editions. I was willing to give it a go but at the price they want I'll wait for further feedback and such to see if it's worth buying it.

'Love' how the steam version was cracked and uploaded before this game even came to gog. Just shows bringing games to gog isn't going to effect sales due to piracy.
THIS!

Barefoot already has that option (for the descriptions) and I have one for the reviews.. if it's not doing it already check your settings as you've probably missed ticking the box.

Ah yes, I do have that turned on. For some reason or another I find areas on the site where things don't get expanded but I never put much thought into it before. I'll keep an eye out for things in the future and if I see any that should be expanded and don't for some reason I'll mention it in the appropriate thread etc.

Thanks for pointing it out, I forgot about that. :)
So judging by the reviews, the name Hybrid Wars seems to refer to the duality of being as boring to play as it is pretty to look at...

Remind me again why this poorly received, stale, white bread game was acceptable but not a certain shooter with an 'overwhelmingly positive' rating on Steam?

I'm surprised the cool kids didn't attack you for asking such a question.
In any case, it's a pointless discussion now; and it's clear GOG does what GOG wants, then thinks about its community second.
Is this the release of the day? (the DLC)

Not quite ;)

DLC was released on Thursday previous week. And it was available on GOG at release date, it just wasn't announced.

Probably something along the lines of "If you want to have the Master of Orion remake + the old versions you better release Hybrid Wars on your platform!"

Isn't leverage great?

This really has to be the reason, just as how there's no other way I can explain the dreck that Devolver has shoveled onto here in the lead up to Shadow Warrior 2...

The dreck being?

Well there's the execrable OmniBus, a game that has no right to be here, let alone charge money for, plus a bunch of mediocre playing, styleless, iOS or Newgrounds caliber pixel-vomit indies like Okhlos, Mother Russia Bleeds & Gods Will Be Watching.

Ah gotcha. Though Mother Russia Bleeds actually seems fun. :p
This isn't suspicious at all. Ah who cares I already voted with my wallet by not buying into this dribble.
