Hitman: Absolution & Hitman: Blood Money are now available DRM-free. Get Hitman series 75% off until April 11th, 1pm UTC.

Money talks. Silence pays. Prepare to make a killing and follow the story of Hitman: Blood Money. When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. Sensing he may be a target, 47 travels to America, and prepares to make a killing.

Hitman: Absolution follows the Original Assassin undertaking his most personal contract to date. Betrayed by the Agency and hunted by the police, Agent 47 finds himself pursuing redemption in a corrupt and twisted world.
Thank you so much Io-Interactive and GOG team! <3

Bought Blood Money, will get Absolution later this year.

After downloading the game and booting up Absolution I feel like GOG should've put up a notice that the Contracts mode menu option has been removed from the game. I'm not sure if they did this on Steam as well when the server shut down but it still sucks none the less.

I knew the servers for Contracts were down, since Square owned the servers and IO was looking into it. but I didnt expect the mode to be removed from the game entirely. Kind of dissapointing, even if the mode was based on sharing maps where you completed the map using special conditions such as murder NPC X with weapon Y in Suit Z. It still would've been a nice way of just messing around in the quite liniar maps using any weapons and suits you had previously unlocked during the single-player campaign.

I'd appreciate it somebody could elaborate on the fact GOG/IO simply removed the feature entirely, While multi-player focused, it was still a game-mode that could be played single-player.

EDIT; While playing the game again, and enjoying it, its obvious the contracts mode has been removed as every unlocked weapon or outfit in the single player campaign is useless. The unlocks can be used in contract mode that you can't even get to, due to the menu option being removed. Basically killing any replayability as the unlocks don't even matter anymore.

Pyromancer138: Sadly,nobody cares about that.

Alexim: Let's not be disheartened, I see that more and more people are also interested in this aspect, we should just try to make ourselves heard by the developers. Apparently they have an official Discord channel that could be a good starting point to ask for the inclusion of achievements: https://discordapp.com/invite/hitman
Said a few words. Hope they consider the feedback.

Two great games right there. Absolution itself is criminally underrated in my honest opinion. A really good game when it gets going.
This was a very happy surprise. Thanks to IO Interactive and GOG for bringing the Hitman games here.
UWAGA! WARNING! ATTENTION! ACHTUNG! ATTENZIONE! POZOR!

If you want buy Absolution remember:

GAMES WAS CASTRATED!!!

They removed more then 50% content from game (contracts).

I'm also not happy about how they are not bothering to give Achievements to GOG customers for the game that has them on Steam, nor their decision cut some content out of it for this GOG release.

Nevertheless, I might buy some of these games because my disc versions of some of them do not work on modern computers due to Windows 10 preventing their DRM from running.

When I used to play Hitman 2: Silent Assassin on my disc version I remember how I was very peeved that the devs censored some of the cutscenes by causing bleep sounds to play in place of some of the voice actors' words. That instantly & completely wrecks immersion.

Can anyone who knows for sure please confirm whether or not the GOG version of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is that same censored version?

The content was already gone in the Steam version. Servers have been down for like a year supposedly.

Mafwek: While Absolution is the weakest one, Blood Money is the pinnacle of the series if I remember correctly?

Lone_Scout: Exactly. Get Blood Money and forget the other one.
I strongly disagree, the first two games in the series are considerably worse than Absolution. Though, I never felt the need to jump on these bandwagons. For the price, you get more than your money's worth.
I first felt bad about getting Absolution for that steep of a discount but after comparing the gutted GoG-release with the Professional Edition - not anymore.

The extras for example include an hour long Making of-documentary as well as a Digital Artbook (PDF, 72 pages) which would have been nice to have along the DRM-free release too.

Here's a (complete?) list of DLC in the Professional Edition:

Adam Jensen Handgun
Adam Jensen Outfit
Agency SIG
Agency SPS
Agency UMP
Bartoli Custom
Bronson
High Roller Outfit
High Tech Outfit
Kruger Meyer
Public Enemy Outfit

ciemnogrodzianin: I've never played the series and I'm going to try with the first one, Hitman: Codename 47. Does it make sense? :)
I wouldn't recommend that or Hitman 2. They're very archaic and hard to get into. I'd actually recommend starting with Absolution. It is by far the simplest and more modern of the games. It's a great stepping stone into the series and from there you could play Contracts and Blood Money.

I think there is a nuance here between just giving you an error since the servers are gone versus actively changing the game to simply remove the content, even if it could still perfectly be playable in single-player if they allowed it to be. Especially when the unlocked stuff for the mode are tied to unlocking them in the single-player campain in the first place.

It feels the same as a game would remove playing against bots on multiplayer maps locally, after multiplayer servers shut down. This as it could perfectly be a way for people to enjoy that part of the content. Or even try to fix it by running their own server etc.

And while I've read IO was trying to get the servers from Square, no new info has been given in the meantime. Personally i feel like it's a weird decision on IO/GOG's part, as Absolution was already quite liniar in comparison to the other games.

It's nice to see these finally arrive. Hitman: Blood Money is my favourite out of the series.

Yes, Hitman 2 Silent Assassin on GOG is uncensored, the steam version and the retail version if patched (1.02) is censored.

FYI. All the Contracts Mode content/DLC is currently completely useless, none of the DLCs (Uniforms,Weapons, etc) are usable in the Offline Campaign. I have the game on steam and it won't even allow you to enter the contracts menu because the servers don't exist(and chances are they won't be back), so you can't even play around with the mode offline.

Long story short, contracts mode for Absolution is dead, been dead for more than a year now, and probably won't be returning back, you can't play the mode offline on steam so in the long run the GOG version isn't really missing anything.

Whats actually missing here is the Sniper Challenge standalone game that's included with each purchase of Absolution on steam, would be nice if they added it as an "extra" in Absolution.
