Given the roadmap on the game page, as well as the reviews on steam, this game should probably have been marked as an "early access" game (here and on steam).
This isn't a release, this is a "release".

...Just like I'm still waiting for Edge of Eternity finally to be finished... Made the mistake of buying it when it was "released".

And yes, this is different than games that get major updates or DLCs or new features. These are situations where they're still messing with core game play and the existing content itself obsoletes.
Oh, look. It's that low poly look that was popular nearly a decade ago.

Should have consulted the artists Noise, Huffslove, da3rd, or waspsalad, instead of going with these beady eyed, smooth faced goblins who remind me a bit too much of Max from Sam & Max.

How in the fluff is a game with a "roadmap" of features to be implemented "later in development" not in early access?

Since we have DLCs labelled as bundles, why not an EA game that is not labelled as EA?

Perhaps because they already know that they will not be implementing them?
Me reading title:

Goblins... My excitement rocketed up...
of Elderstone...

Oh crap. No Gobliiins 5 release. Hope to see it one day here.

Looks like a cute game, wishlisted.

Also, is the game still in-dev? That roadmap thing is confusing.

I also looked at the system requirements.

Minimum system requirements:
Windows 7 64-bit
Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 680 GTX or AM DHD 7970/ R9 280X
DirectX: Version 11
400 MB available space

Recommended system requirements:
Windows 7 64-bit
Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 960 GTX or AMD Radeon R9 280X
DirectX: Version 11
400 MB available space

Do games use that much Ram for so little storage space? Or is it possible the game will be much larger once the roadmap is complete?

I feel like this is the second game recently to still be in development and not be labelled as such, but I can't for the life of me remember what the other one was.

My honest guess is that AAA games with roadmaps are seen as complete games by the masses themselves ...
Oh, I was expecting the japanese kind of goblins, if you know what I mean...
Anyone know kickstarter backer will be given a gog key?

Kamikaze goblins? Those were in Warcraft 2.

Yep, there was another game with a roadmap, that got released on GOG, without the "In dev" markings.
And yes - It was just a few months ago, and I also can't remember the name. XD
Probably, because "In dev" games are of no interest for me.

Devs: finish your game(s) - then we (might) talk again
