Is it me, or does it seem that game devs are somewhat scraping the barrel for inspiration these days? This never would have gotten off the ground in 1989.

Yes! I liked Broken Sword 3.

Painfuly boring as it looks, I'd still rather play this than any of the visual novels, jrpgs, and anime looking things we've got tons of now. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. These days that's not a half-bad release :D

I'm not sure what you mean. Other than somehow I always have to be the bad guy around here :D My point was that obviously GOG's standards have changed, and we can't really judge new releases like we used to. And it's kinda funny that people are complaining about how bad this game looks, when they will jump to the defence of any number or absolutely trash-tier games that look much worse than this provided there are anime titties there.

Honestly, I can actually see some attraction in a game about running a small private business in a moody middle of nowhere. If it was less of a management sim and more of an adventure game it could be somewhat interesting.

The graphics look way better than what I would expect by the title.

I haven't looked but can't recall a "simulator" game being interesting other than Goat Simulator.

Because this sells pretty good (I don't know about this particular title, just "genre" in general). Lots of people finds these boring job simulator type games relaxing.

I don't understand the need of some people to bash certain genres/specific games or people who like them.

This is not a game for me. The issue is closed for me there.

I do like the defining Zachtronic games (SpaceChem, Infinifactory, Shengzhen IO, ...) despite the fact that at the relevant release times quite a few people complained that this is too close to their actual job and they don't understand how anyone would play them.

I have seen sequential days on GOG with three or four releases (with their own release post, not dumped together in one) each day. Unless every week day contains that number of releases it should be fairly safe to assume that the game you wanted did not get dropped because they had too many other releases.

Pfff, I read too much into your comment. Socks for "private time", porn games being released on GOG... Rearranging the sock drawer simulator 'cause one would go through their socks while playing said games, etc etc
