The actual game has a rather extensive changelog on its own as it got updated to version 1.82.

GalCiv 1 and 2 were a couple of my favorite games ever.

3 is sitting there on my shelf - I bought it Day 1 when it arrived - but as more and more DLC pile up I grow more and more disillusioned.

I feel like... why even start it up knowing I'm missing half the game from the get-go?

Even if I shelled out more and more and more cash for all this DLC... next month another one will arrive and I'll have an incomplete game again.
wtf is wrong to the devs????????????????

I would advise you to wait a year or two since Stardocks modus operandi is to release several dlcs for base game and after that they will shell out a new standalone version that will include all the previous dlc + base game and new content like with Sins of Solar Empire, Fallen Enchantress, Sorcerer King (new standalone version not yet on gog), etc. Realistically until they release Gal Civ IV they will continue spamming dlc and new standalone all inclusive versions.

As Judas said. And thats not the first time, the patch notes for GC3 are quite often more or less extensive and also do add more elements to the game for all players regardless of just owning the base game or not.

I'm sorry, I won't support this new "business model" (releasing an unfinished game followed by insane stream of DLCs).
Bye Stardock.

At this point it is not only about the money for me, but my unwillingness to manage dozens of dlcs.

That I can understand. Money + dlc number was the same reason why abandoned Paradox games. I'm still thrilled and hyped about them but when the time comes to buy I just say no cause of the dlc spamm and little content in base games. Saddly Stardock is worse with new all inclusive standalone versions basically ripping off previous buyers.

Yes I am aware of the updates anothername and JudasIscariot Cheers, and good to hear they finally fixed:
Stray particle effects from battles were traveling across the galaxy before timing out. This appeared to be a stuck turn. This should no longer happen.

Still disappointed with GC3 and Stardocks business practices though.

Can't they just put together some sort of season pass or something for their games? Having to buy one and one DLC is pretty annoying.

Indeed, I also got fooled by this title last year with the "GalCiv III & All DLC's" sale (attached).

I thought I was getting basically a GOTY edition; but this one is a zombie that keeps on living...

Someday, if it is ever actually finished, I'll look at it again; but in the meantime it's parked at the curb and I just SMH again and again as more and more DLC's come out.
