Based on Soviet era science-fiction.

Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power, a turn-based wargame, a digital distribution exclusive, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com!

Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power is a turn-based sci-fi strategy based on a well known Russian novel "Prisoners of Power". A young man crash-lands on an alien planet controlled by an oppressive society, overthrows it, and now we have to deal with the aftermath. The game is, in many way, similar to the previous Wargaming.net title: Massive Assault, also available (and on promo) on GOG.com. It's a game that looks like your traditional RTS, but remains an entertaining large-scale turn-based wargame behind the scenes. A unique backstory, varied units, morale mechanic, and pure strategy - Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power is an important, though long-lost, entry in the canon of PC wargaming.

Launch your massive attack in Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power, is available now, DRM-free exclusively on GOG.com!

Thank you ! :)
There's also a game and movie 'Inhabited Island', also based on the Prisoner of Power novel. So I take it Galactic Assault takes place after the events of Inhabited Island?
Ach, the novel is by the Strugatsky brothers! I thought it sounded familiar. I think I have a copy of it somewhere, in fact.

JudasIscariot: So is Galactic Assault really a part of the MA series or not?I am debating whether to add it to the MA series and all :)
Yeah, it does play in the same "universe". I think somehow it is connected ... anyway Galactic Assault has "the most complete story" out of all three.

triock: If you like Massive Assault or Battle Isle, get it.
I love Battle Isle, so now gonna buy this on your recommendation.
Looks interesting! Does it have a windowed mode?
How stable is this game? Is it prone to CTD like Massive Assault Phantom Renaissance?

Did you download the updated installer for MA: Phantom Resistance? :)
Hmm, I wonder how much scope there is now for a GOGmix of games here based on specific books? We've got this and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, both based on works by the Strugatskys. May have to see if there are other games that fit the bill.
Looks interesting, but I want to get Phantom Renaissance as well. What are the good things that GAPoP has over PR?
i hope, that soon we'll be able to get Inhabited Island: Prisoner of Power, this game was only released in russia and france so far. and maybe we'll get hard to be a god too
Haven't picked up any of the MA games yet, so I think I'll be safer just to pick up MA1 from the promo for now. Galactic Assault is definitely something to check out later if the former is to my liking.
