First Encounter Assault Recon

F.E.A.R. Platinum, an award winning FPS horror, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount!

F.E.A.R. Platinum, is simultaneously described as one of the best designed first person shooters ever, and one of the eeriest horror games around. That's quite the combo. The FPS elements in F.E.A.R. Platinum remain exemplary even to this day, with A.I. that's willing to mercilessly out-flank and outmaneuver you, making each and every encounter an intense fight of who can turn the tables on whom. But combat is just half of this story, the second half is atmosphere - thick enough that you can slice it with a knife. This is a game of anticipation and fear of the unknown. It's downtime between combat encounters that will really get your heart pounding. As you wander the disconcertingly empty office halls and basements… something peculiar follows.

The Platinum package includes the base game, as well as the Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate expansions.

Become a highly-trained hunter of the supernatural in F.E.A.R. Platinum, available now, DRM-free, on GOG.com. The 50% launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, February 19, at 1:59 PM GMT.

TWITCH STREAM SPECIAL
The one and only TotalBiscuit will be streaming the game live on twitch.tv/gogcom!

Will he be terrified of F.E.A.R. itself? Spend your evening with the cynical brit and soak in his always-unique perspective on Monday, February 16 at 9pm GMT / 4pm EST / 1pm PST.

Can we not get to download each game separate? I'd buy instantly.
I'm really happy that GOG got this game (plus the expansions)!

Just going to keep my fingers crossed that they get the other two F.E.A.R. games -- OK, they may not be as good as the first one, but I still like them. :-)

Fingers crossed for that too... damn... I'm running out of fingers here! :-P

Mind you, although that one's still Monolith, I'm not sure who owns the various rights now, thanks to the tangled mess it seemed to end up in!

3rd. (On my brother's Steam account and my own)
Great release! I always found it a little frustrating that the expansions basically get made 'an alternate timeline' by the second game. But still all pretty fun to play.
What the hell is going on here? :)
WOW, I didn't expect F.E.A.R. on GOG ! One of the best FPS ever here, excellent !
Have been waiting a long time for this game to show up on GOG. It's finally here!

The gunplay in this game is still unrivaled even today.
Yeah, great to see it here! I own retail copy of the first F.E.A.R but not the both expansions. Glad i'm not buyed them on Steam. F.E.A.R 2 next.
I'll have to wishlist this for now and buy it asap. Thanks GOG.
Holy shit.... I've been waiting for this for so, so long. FEAR is my favorite shooter ever, and I wondered if we'd ever see itt.

Man... this is incredible.
One of the greatest FPS ever made period.Shame the series pretty much shat the bed with F.3.A.R.
Awesome. This is a game that I've been wanting to try for quite a while now.

Back when it was new, I always avoided it, because it never looked particularly appealing to me. Everything I ever saw of this game seemed to consist exclusively of grey hallways, bullet time and kind of ugly character models.
Recently, though, I realized that I really love almost all of the Monolith games I've played (Blood; Shogo; No One Lives Forever 1&2; Tron 2.0), so I really want to give this a shot.

I'm really considering this purchase, although, even with the 50% discount, it's more than I'm usually willing to pay for a single game. Especially since I've never played this one at all.
