Splatsch: There is this info that we don't have on GOG :

"AI Generated Content Disclosure
The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:
Localized voice over for all languages except English is generated using ai"
Thanks for the information, I’m not buying (nor playing) that, or any other game by that development studio. Not now, not ever.

Splatsch: Beware, the price just changed and I see this on the gamecard :
"The GOG versions of FATE: Reawakened currently contains only the enhanced first game in the series."

I don't understand. Are other versions supposed to be included later ?
Thanks for the headsup, I almost got excited.

I don't remember there being much VO to localize...?

I know many see this as a deal breaker, but for a niche game to get remastered...? Now, if it was a dialogue-heavy D&D game IMO that would be another story.

I just don't see that much of a difference between vanilla and the remaster to justify re-buying the game (or series). We'll see...

What a mess! :P I'm pretty fine with the originals, though.)

Splatsch: it would be very appreciated that like on Steam, we would be informed of AI content of a game in the gamepage
Completely agree.
The store page says it's only the first game included and not all four games like the Steam version. Does this mean that the remaining games will be added in the future or will they release each separately in order to cash grab from the GOG audience? Some clarification from GOG would be nice.

Regarding the issue of price and the fact that the studio has not released the others on GOG, they responded as follows:

"Hey! There was a brief pricing issue on GOG where the full-game price was shown by mistake, but it was fixed quickly. FATE 1 on FATE: Reawakened is currently available for $9.99. We’re also monitoring how it performs on GOG too before releasing the other games there. "

For missing achievements:

"let me ask. i know we have pre-existing achievements already so let me see if this is possible"
AI-generated localization? On one hand that's likely to be inaccurate and soulless. On the other hand too many human localizers involve their politics in their translations. I'm gonna pick this up. If human localizers do a better job I might reconsider my stance.

[EDIT] Would be nice to have a disclaimer regardless.

"People sometimes say things I disagree with. Time to replace everyone in a position to do so with AI".

Hell of a take, I'll grant you that.

1. Release incomplete product.
2. Notice it sells poorly.
3. Use that as an excuse to not release the missing parts.
4. "Why won't anyone buy our game on that platform?!"

Well that sucks. It means we won't ever be seeing the rest of the games released here because nobody will buy a cut-down version here on GOG. Why would we buy here when we don't get the full experience? I was going to buy it in a couple days once my budget got replenished, but now I'll pass.

GOG really shouldn't have allowed this to happen.

This release should not have been done as is. Either rename it xxxx_part 1 of 4, or dont release at all.
Either way, its another stain on gog as a store. Who will buy this, knowing what the full game contains elsewhere? Not many i imagine.

Let met get this straight. Everywhere else they're selling the full game, and have done so since day one, while here on GOG it's only the first part, and is the only store to ever do so? And it's sold with the exact same name, with only a relatively easy to miss warning in the game page about it being only the first part, instead of using a different name like, say, 'FATE: Reawakened Part 1' to clearly show it's not the full package?

No offense to GOG, but this is *beeping* stupid. This is only going to cause confusion and frustration, which will lead to low sales, and then we will be lucky if we ever get the rest of the game here. Basically, it will happen just like Andrzejef said. It would have been better not to sell FATE: Reawakened on GOG, than to sell a subpar version like this. This will hurt GOG's reputation, I believe.

And why did the devs went to the trouble of breaking up the game in parts just for GOG*? Surely it would have been easier to just release the full game at once, no? And if they ever release the rest of the game here, which doesn't seems likely, this will surely needlessly cause more complications that have never come up on the others stores.

I would have been interested, but I'm certainly not going to buy this until the rest is released, or at least confirmed to be released.

* Yes, I'm aware that FATE was originally in parts, but this remaster was, until now, always the full game.
If assuming that nobody's going to purchase this because it's missing pointless crap like achievements could be refrained from, that'd be great.

8 euros for one game (out of 4) seems to be alright. Going to pick this up later, probably tomorrow.

The GOG versions of FATE: Reawakened currently contains only the enhanced first game in the series.
What? Why???

I can't recommend the first part on its own. When compared to the later parts, it feels like an early-access build. It is very basic and lacks variety in tasks, enemies, bosses and level themes.

Parts 1-4 aren't really different games, more like extended versions. It compares to going from v0.5 to v1.0 to v1.5 to v2.0. I really don't understand why they (the dev/pub) keep up this differentiation??? Why not just publish the best possible version with remastered graphics? This is a bad decision. Period.

Might not be GOG's fault, it could have been a last minute change by the publisher or developer. More worrying is all the negative reviews on that other site regarding crashes & bugs.
