Power overwhelming.

Eradicator, a cult shooter where you venture into a hostile fortress that holds galaxy's most precious element, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Let's face it, building a sprawling citadel on a mysterious alien planet wasn't a very good idea to begin with. But somebody decided it was worth taking the risk as Ioxia is the only planet able to provide mankind with the valuable element Mazrium. Now the mysterious forces that were lying dormant at its core for all these years have awoken and all hell breaks loose. The situation calls for gun-blazing action. For explosive bravado. For an Eradicator.

You choose between Dan, Eleena, and lizardman Kamchak, grab as many weapons as you can carry, and enter the fortress to face the ugly hordes that have been unleashed. The gameplay will vary depending on the character you pick but one thing is for sure: you'll get to kick plenty of spiky alien buttocks. And when you need a breather, you can get down to solving the tantalizing puzzles found within the 25 levels of the vast citadel. The ability to toggle between 1st-person and 3rd-person view is bound to come in handy here.

Get geared up and blast the citadel clean of alien rabble as the Eradicator, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until March 1st, 1:59 PM GMT.
Meh another shooter.

Matruchus: Looks like a Quake/Doom clone.
Ninja'd! My impression exactly. More so Doom than Quake. Glancing at the 1995 date, that sounds about the right time too.

hyperagathon: At least one of us isn't surprised :) If I remember correctly, you played this recently - how was the performance? After trying Blood a few weeks ago, I'm wary of DOSBox performance for late era DOS games.
No performance problems that I can recall, at least not in the default settings. Having said that, the game's default resolution might be a bit low and can make discerning enemy sprites a bit difficult from a distance, so I have no idea whether the performance will take a significant hit if you increase the resolution.
Nice release but.... Bring NAM already!!!
I never heard of this too, but it's good to see another FPS here.
I found a little gameplay video, hope it will be useful for someone :

the ERADICATOR!
So how does it work? The rights are jointly held by Retroism and Night Dive?

tfishell: Lemme ask this: what's the mouselook situation with this game?
Typical mouselook that supports both horizontal and vertical axis. You might have to invert the vertical axis and increase its sensitivity, though.
Hm, don't know that but looks appealing.

Few questions before making purchase.

How is the overall gameplay? Is it close to Doom with murdering dozens of various enemies or something more like Rise of Triad with many environmental hazards and uninteresting enemies?
Interesting weapons or not?
How long is it?
Is there perhaps some kind of source port available to allow higher resolutions and other stuff?

That cover artwork is hilariously bad. :D

Not really my thing, but looks like some good, cheesy retro action. Nice launch discount, too.

Is that 16+ FSK rating accurate? At the time, pretty much any game of this type was rated 18+.
Fina-freakin-ly... Night Dive brings another Retroism title to GOG. This one's been on Steam for a while.
"Choose between 1st- and 3rd-person player perspective to control better your character's movement, and to view enemies that sneak up from behind."

'Better control' would probably sound 'better' here
just saying...
