If you didn’t have enough of ΔV: Rings of Saturn, you better brace yourself; ΔV: Rings of Saturn - Deep Weeb is out now, with a -20% launch discount! The offer lasts until January 20, 7 PM UTC.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn is a hard sci-fi, top-down physics based space mining simulator with a realistic spaceflight that uses a true-to-life technology. You can master it as a skill, upgrade your ship to suit your flying style best, and hire a crew to assist you. ΔV: Rings of Saturn - Deep Weeb DLC allows you to explore the game even further!
ΔV: Deep Weeb is the long-awaited cosmetic DLC for ΔV: Rings of Saturn (...) This DLC transforms all crew portraits into anime characters, giving your space adventure a unique and immersive twist.
The idea is fun. Though I'd personally prefer mods/DLCs that do the opposite.
Did they use terrible AI-generated images for this trailer or what? O_o

Or maybe all this DLC is like that.. I'm not a fan of it.

Was given this a while back. The trailer for this DLC has actually put me off playing it.
Pssh. Furries or go home! ;)

This one did, but that other one didn't? Interesting. =P

Seems quite silly to forego a game, especially one that you already own, because there's a choice to buy different character portraits packs that have absolutely no impact on the actual game itself. No one is forcing you to buy either of them, you know. There's nothing wrong with the base game's portraits.

Didnt see the other trailer! ;)
From the game page:

Key Features
*Realistic top-down hard sci-fi space flight experience. Every aspect of gameplay is backed up by real science. Ships fly just as starships should.

IN 2D :D

I'm actually interested. (Not in the DLC, the base game.)
This one also has a demo! Neet.

I would have preffered 3D, but space games with newtonian physics AND space games with no emphasis on combat are so rare, that this one sticks out.
Yet another DLC release while still early access while the base game is often heavily discounted. Some developers just consider anyone who buys their game to be wealthy suckers and treat them accordingly. I haven't played it for a while but the game itself is decent. The free demo was expanded to nearly full featured at one point (removing the "no save" restriction previously) but I'm not sure if that is still the case.

It's not silly to speak up and say 'This is a bullsh!t cash grab for an early access title".

I haven't played Stellaris in a year due to how Paradox habitually screws up their own game play and balance and I don't miss it since there is a plethora of games that are fun and not trying to suck off every last cent I have. Yea I paid for it (and numerous expansions), but you can be sure the powers that be take note when the played hours drop off when they make bad decisions even if they won't listen to the feedback of their paying customers calling them out on their crap.

Both this and their earlier furry DLC are completely separate from the main game, absolutely unnecessary, and just silly fluff for people who like that. It's not a cash grab when the vast majority of their audience will have absolutely no desire to own these DLCs.

If they did content DLC while still in early access, you'd be right to complain, but this is pure cosmetics, and silly cosmetics at that. Just ignore them, and enjoy the core game, which is excellent, and improving constantly, with frequent additions of core content (as part of the main game, not as DLC) like additional ship models and extended story options.

These developers are Good People (TM), and do not deserve this kind of negativity which seems to completely misunderstand what they're doing.

I can strongly recommend playing the demo - it should, as noted above, still be completely equivalent to the full game, as they removed all demo restrictions when Russia invaded Ukraine:
Instead of buying ΔV, spend your money on something important and help someone in need. You can get the full version of ΔV when we have peace again.
I can recommend browsing the diligently posted change logs in that thread, too - you'll see that they're constantly expanding and refining the way the ships and the physics models are simulated. It's really been a joy to see the game keep on evolving.

Is the game complete or what? In dev is the reason I don't touch it, even though I bought it a long time ago.
I can't stand playing unfinished games.
Oof yea reeks of bad AI and tbh cringey weeb stuff.
I wouldn't even mind anime if itwasn't for the name of the in-game company logo.

Agreed. Everything I read about them so far tells me "good and worth to be supported". They even gave a few GOG keys away here on GOG at one time iirc.

I tried the demo quize a while ago but had extremely difficulties to understand how the game is working because imo not much about the game mechanics was explained. Did they improve the game here as well?

What I got from the trailer:
- miners drive bikes;
- there are a lot of them.

Is it the intended message?

I just tried the demo. The tutorial is actually the hardest part...
What's interesting and fun is - is that you can purchase different HUD's - and you just so start with the most basic.
So... starting the game you have sensory overload. Just what am I supposed to be looking here?

Eventually you realize the ''Let's see if your thrusters work (press W)'' is in one such box. From there you complete the tutorial. (It's optional btw; you can skip it. (definitely do not recommend.))

So - there is some hand-holding. This is not one of those games where you are thrust into a world and have to discover everything yourself.

Might add something later, but this is what I can tell from the ~30min's I played.
I liked what I saw btw, and will eventually buy the full version.

Edit: I should learn to read. The demo is the... nevermind.
