Draugen is now available DRM-free. Draugen Collector's Edition, which includes soundtrack, comic book and artbook, is also available, and you can get it 13% off until June 5th, 4pm UTC.

Draugen is a single-player, first-person Fjord Noir tale of suspense and mystery, set in 1920s Norway.

The year is 1923. You play Edward Charles Harden, an American traveller who's come to Norway to find his missing sister. But you're not alone: at every step of the way, Edward's accompanied by his ward, Lissie; a gregarious, independent and enigmatic young woman. Together, you must explore this scenic coastal community — nestled amongst the fjords and mountains of rural Norway — in your search for Edward's sister, and unearth the darkness that lies beneath the picturesque surface.
The story trailer makes the game look much more interesting than the main one.

I was a huge fan of Firewatch, so I'm tempted to buy it.

moobot83: yeah gog stood for good old games not weebo or indie games and there pushing galaxy 2.0 cos gog has given up on actually getting anymore decent titles and basically want you to connect with epic, origin and steam etc so u can play games on GOG.

gog is just an indie store now there wont be any triple A titles fro mthe past coming
GOG has started with classic retro games and that was all they had. After that they introduced indie titles and with this they were no longer good old games. They still have not abandoned the classics but since it is extremely difficult to get some of those remeining clasics here - mostly because of legal things - it#s not their main focus anymore. Also even with GOG Galaxy you do NOT NEED to connect to Steam, Epic ect. to play your GOG games. You only need to connect to these clients if you want to play games from these clients using GOG Galaxy. Maybe you should read the description again before complaining about things that aren't true.

Btw: GOG was never known for selling AAA games - mostly because AAA game publishers just love their DRM.

you make me sad. gog as a company is better (aka profit-inducin') when it branches out
Insta wishlisted, Red Thread Games last and first game was very good (subjective opinion).
I was so eagerly waiting for this one ever since I first saw this appear on GOG, loved Drreamfall, and now that this is here, I feel so bad about just wishilisting it for now, since I just wouldn't have the time to play it thanks to the great many game releases between the announcement and the release of Draugen.

Anyway, one day I'll surely pick it up!

Do you even now what the word "optional" is meaning? YOu don't need to connect to any other platform at all if you don't want to use them. GOG giving people the OPTION to do so only expands their customer range. Bringing more money in, making them more important and therefore might lead to even better games in the future on GOG.

customer range, customers would rather stay with steam since they have all the games, unless gog gets better games instead of just accepting any kickstarter indie games it will get somewhere, if i was a steam user i wouldnt come to GOG where there is less games. just look at the sports section on GOG its pathetic most of those games look like they can be played from a browser based game site.

gog needs to get some old titles that are actually recognised

Speak for yourself.
Personally i like quite a few of the indie games that have come out on gog and i bet quite a few other people on gog are of the same opinion.

Also, I came here from steam
i now have more games here than on steam
i do occasionally buy games on steam sometimes because my friends on steam have the game there (co-op/multiplayer) or the game has a very slim chance of coming here . So your statement of custommers rather stay on Steam is not 100% true.

Also, your stament is contradictionary. A lot of the old good games can be played in a browser based game site.

The idea of Draugen is interesting and visuals are really nice.

But I hoped that the game set in Norway will have a Norwegian voiceover. I learn Norwegian myself, so it could have been very useful.

Customers that don't care about DRM-free probably still ARE on Steam. Everybody knows that GOG has less games and this probably won't change. I am wondering what exactly are "better" games for you? Some of the games GOG released recently were highly praised - just look at the comments in the release thread. I also never understood the "argument" that it is important for a game to not look like a browser based game or not. Gameplay, and content is much more important for me. It's important for me to actually enjoy what I am playing. Of course I should like the artstyle but is it fair to simply say that "it looks like it can be played with a browser" artstyles are all the same? Have youe even PLAYED one of the games you are complaining about? Which games didn't you like? Did you ever play this game right here you are conmplaining about?

Last but not least:: Don't forget that it is really hard to get old games that are "actually recognised". GOG has quite a few already and the remeining ones are much harder to get because - as I said - legal things you probably don't have any idea of at all. Even IF you shoudl get such a rare gem here (and it is not as if there aren't coming any old games to GOG anymore) GOG still would have to make it runnable on all those new systems to get it accepted here. There is a reason GOG started to accept indie games years ago if you think about it you might even understand.

While I hate all clients as I see them as effort to bypass drm-free, saying they haven't brought good games, including old, is just so out of touch with reality I just won't say anything more. Ok, one thing, stupid.

About the game, is it a walking sim or what?

A good release.
Wishlisted for now.
The reviews appear to be pretty positive about it.

I wonder why it is a windows only release though, considering Dreamfall Chapters supported Mac and Linux too.
