Top-down tactical team terrorist takedown!

Door Kickers (Windows + Mac + Linux), a real-time action-packed strategy game where you plan and perform SWAT team's tactical interventions, is available on GOG.com for $19.99.

Door Kickers puts you in charge of a SWAT tactical squad and lets you command them during all sorts of raids. Analyze the situation, plan team routes, choose equipment, breach points, and coordinate multiple troopers to reach the hostage room before the bad guys get to press that trigger. It may sound daunting, and like real world CQB combat, it sure is. But most levels can be completed in minutes, and on the fly improvisation works. Achieving the perfect plan for getting the mission done with no false steps, that is a skill not easily mastered.

Lead your SWAT team safely from breach to hostage extraction in Door Kickers--DRM-free, for $19.99 on GOG.com!

At the moment its not possible to play as the bad guys, though there was this Payday mod floating around ...

ZwaanME: Sounds a bit like Police Quest: Swat 2. In that game you also had to coordinate a SWAT team through different scenario's. Is this game in anyway similar?
Or "Deadline", a game where you planned and coordinated a police assault (And sometimes never kicked any door when the intel you dug up allowed you to negociate the criminal's surrender, or when the hostages managed to take down their captor before the assault.)

This "Deadline" http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/522/Deadline.html ?
high rated
Once again, I wish gog told us that this would be released here. Then I wouldn't have bought it on Steam.

I much prefer gog, but a coming soon list is dreadfully needed.

CharlesGrey: ... What? :D
You are mixing up with Sierra's "Swat 2". THAT'S WHAT.

AndyBuzz: Hmm first time I see this one. To the ones that know, is this a simplified (and more colorful :P) version of Frozen Synapse type of gameplay? The trailer seemed like that to me, but sometimes trailers are misleading.
If that's the case then I will definitely consider buying as soon as I can afford it.
You can pause and make plans but you can also move and control in real time. So you can setup A, B, C triggers to coordinate movements or just go on they fly. So Door Kickers is more flexible than Frozen Synapse.

Yup, that one. Frustrating game, but I liked it. Never passed the "railroad hostage situation" scenario, though.

reaver894: More to the point.... STOP TRYING TO INSERT YOUTUBE INTO THE POSTS IF YOUR FORUMS DONT SUPPORT IT.

I mean really? They are your forums, you should know their limitations.
The forum posts of releases are directly linked from frontpage. There the video works just fine and as no change is done to this here, it gets transfered with not working video but not because they want to have it on forum and do it badly, they just keep it as it is.

First thing I thought when I saw the screenshots. Still have my hard copy at home, in the box of GoG. Wouldn't mind seeing it creeping up it's way into GoG.com either :)
Looks nice, but I prefer TBS to RTS... I'll probably pass on this one.

Its just as easy to copy it without the vid hell copy it with then manually delete the line for the vid, that kind of thing is just unprofessional and looks incompetent from the outside

Sounds like it might play a bit like FTL then. I could enjoy that. But if I have to react and control all the important decisions in real time, then it's not the game for me. I get too easily flustered for that.
Looks very tempting. But for 20$ I'd like to play some multiplayer online... Is it coming in the future?
This might be a dumm question but why is this game 5$ more expensive on gog then elsewhere?

Edit: Forget about the above - the game is still in early access elsewhere cause it has been released before on gog then elsewhere so thats why the price is probably not right.

And another one, I already bought directly from the devs, months ago - and where I got a seperate Steam key in addition to the DRM-free version.

So, no need to (re-)buy it here right now.
On the wishlist it goes...maybe I will add it to my GOG shelf some time later.

*sigh* I really should stop to back /buy games anywhere else, since they all seem to come to GOG these days, sooner or later.

It's pausable...you give your guys commands (game's paused) and then you unpause the timer and they execute your commands.

It's a really nice game.
