A tactical RPG that portrays a fantasy story of a war between the canine and the feline tribes playable from both points of view – Cross Tails is now available on GOG!

For over a decade, the canine Kingdom of Ranverfurt and the feline Republic of Hidiq have clashed, their deep-rooted animosity etched in the memories of their people. Now, as a player, you will delve into a story-driven plot playable from both sides that ultimately unravels the secrets behind this conflict and the influence of an ominous third power. Expect turn-based battles on a 3D quarter view stage, total of 24 types of classes + fixed class for every main character (each character can have a main job and a subclass), skill tree for all 24 jobs, equippable passive slots, rune stones that upgrade your equipment, faiths that add bonus values to stats or special abilities, and more!

Check out Cross Tails now!

GOG.com: Release: Cross Tails
Crossing into the forum.
Nice surprise, didn't expect to see this here!

Will try to get it before the end of the launch sale.
Normally i'd buy this right away but i already own the physical on switch.

As far as tactical jrpgs go, it is quite enjoyable with an interesting premise. (it's quite literally a cats vs dogs story!)

Now i have no idea about the quality of the pc version but those that own a switch can try the demo there before buying whichever version.

Gothic, yes, with tactics, only that I'm no good tactician. There is still hope that I will become better. :D

For potential buyers, be aware that the game can solely be played using a keyboard or controller; mouse input is not supported, even within the main menu.

KB should not be a problem for this since it's turn based. Are both KB and gamepad controls rebindable?

Wow.
That's the kind of info I would expect a little more prominent on a store for PC games.
Not "hidden" at the bottom of the page.

Edit: better wording

You can rebind some commands, but actions such as switching the view, rotating the map, and zooming in and out cannot be changed. The available options are generally limited, lacking settings for resolution or V-sync. Quality settings include only Anti-Aliasing On/Off, Depth of Field On/Off, and Correction Effects Display. The word "Correction Effects Display" is unclear to me, and the Japanese term 補正効果表示 (ほせいこうかひょうじ) does not provide useful information regarding its purpose or function when I looked it up with Google.

If memory serves, Correction Effects display is basically Post Processing effects such as DoF etc.

Yes, that is crucial information, especially for those who prefer playing with a mouse or are unable to use a controller. Personally, I don't believe that using a keyboard is a good substitute for a controller for this game.

As the store page also mentions partial controller support, I can confirm that my Logitech F310 works with this game.

Oh, a tactical JRPG. Hard pass.

I was hoping for Ersatz Animal Crossing.

But at least this avoids the sin of the four eared furry, even though these er, "furries" are maybe a 10% on the scale.

I see, thank you. I deactivated it but can't see any noticeable difference in graphics quality compared to when it is enabled. Because it can be anything I just leave it off for now.
Tactical RPGs are not among my favourite genres but the dogs vs cats design looks cute. Wishlisted.
