A different kind of space adventure.

Cosmonautica, a joyous space trading sim adventure, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com! Get it 15% off with the launch discount!

Space travel doesn't have to be serious business. It can also be goofy, or funny, as long as it remains truly fantastic. That's why Cosmonautica is such an interesting proposition - it's a game about space travel, trade, economy, ship management and, well just a lot of joy and humor to go around. Recruit a team of oddballs to take on the infinitely random universe onboard your very own (equally peculiar) ship. Fly around, kill a bunch of fools, make a buck or two, do some science, and keep your crew happy in this FTL-meets-Sims bundle of joy. With a full-blown story as well as a freeroam sandbox mode, what you do is up to you, and choice is the name of the game.

If you're growing tired of the joyless emptiness of an infinite space, Cosmonautica may just be for you. The 15% launch discount will last for one week, until Friday, August 7, 3:59 PM GMT.
Looking forward to this game :)
I bought it on Steam, and was a bit disappointed. I could be playing it wrong, but the trading just doesn't give you much money. Researching to make any cool room takes a looong time, and you run out of room on your ship quickly, so to buy a new ship seems to take a looong time as well. And I was interested in the simulation bit, but all they do is go to work/sleep/eat/and poop...a lot. Again, I might be playing it wrong, but I was disappointed and stopped playing.
Is this game 32-bit OS compatible? No definite answer in system requirements.
For those that have both, what is the better game, this one or Interstellaria?
Antropomorphic aliens all around, hmm. The ganeplay might be fun, but it looks to be a bit tedious and I can't say I care much for the graphics style; almost all aliens seem to be modeled after a gameshow host or a used car salesman. Probably not for me, but I'll read the reviews once they come in.

Yes, I know it might seem extreme but I feel it's for my own good.
I think this looks totally awesome. It seems to me to be like a "Han Solo" simulator. But I might be thinking too optimistically. Anyone have any hands on experience yet?
Hm, definitely looks interesting! Would love to hear some more thoughts from people who've played it already. Wishlisted for now.
Recently i saw other games that had a similar look, although they probably weren't as fleshed out (Fallout 4's bunker app for iphone?)... still I'd give this a try.

JudasIscariot: It will be leaving Early Access soon so that discount will be changing as well :)

CarrionCrow: Have you had a chance to get it a try? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
I haven't had the chance to try it but I'll see if it runs via Wine over the weekend :)

Please let us know if it does work. I'm itching to purchase it and run it through WINE myself, but until others have, I need to work on my GOG backlog (never thought the day would come when I would say THAT! :D).

Keep in mind that I am no expert as far as Wine goes so it might not work for me because I am too lazy to tweak things :P
This game is a bit of a trickster. It draws you in, but there isn't much depth. Once you figure out how to get a good crew and trade, you've mastered the game. There are like 7 mission types, and ...thats it. Its fairly repetitive with zero end game content. Even in the biggest ship its not much different imho. I dunno. Its alot of fun for a little while, and then you start to see through it. The campaign was alright, but certainly not something I'll remember years from now.

I think I was expecting more.

TL;DR: IMHO FTL>COSMONAUTICA
