ShadowWulfe: This looks awesome.

Wishlisted.

For some reason, I am reminded of Nuclear Strike, when is that coming to GOG?

trusteft: I would insta buy the whole "Strike" series if they brought them here.
No substitute for the originals of course but there's this indie kind of spiritual successor to the Strike series called Megacopter: Blades of the Goddess that might strike your fancy.

The game looks awesome!

It would be great to get Linux version, but I'll probably get and try to run it using Wine at some point in future.

Regarding the old classic Novalogic/Comanche series – I'd love to buy them on GOG, would be great, but no hope here. The good thing is that – looking at screenshots and trailer – the new game is quite close gameplay-wise to the classic series with balancing arcade-simulation and amazing diversity of landscapes. Looks like fun.

Strike1313: Hello, Comanche no longer requires an internet connection unless you want to compete in multiplayer.

We hope you will enjoy the game and have a lot of fun flying Comanche!

I'm regaining a little hope that it stays to certain partners. Gonna sit on this for a while, though, because of the stuff that's going on both around this game and other recent releases. I noticed in this post and others there are people who argue that games-as-a-service isn't a form of DRM, so we not only need to remain vigilant, but we also have to get reviews from multiple sources before we believe anythingv about DRM, no offense to those confirming it's DRM-free, but i can't just take the word of only 1 or 2 strangers or assume there won't be a stealth udpate that restores the DRM or adds DRM.

Swedrami:
Hopefully it comes here.

I will say I prefer to boxy PS1 styled 3D over the cartoon colorful style of this Megacopter.

Not to knock on Comanche's visuals, they are great.

I don't think that any of the games from the "Strike" series commes here... it is an Electronic Arts (EA) franchise, but they put it away for whatever reason :(

NovaPyxis: No answer yet whether single-player can be played offline?
avatar
SuperLibby72: Okay, I bought the game. You do not need online to play the single player. The game works fine offline. Matter of fact, it didn't even anything about connecting to online.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: This game has no controller support? It's not listed as a feature on the GOG store page.

That seems quite odd to me. It looks like the type of game that would be best-played with a controller.

SuperLibby72: The game has controller support.
Thanks a lot for the info SuperLibby72!!

ThomNG, Strike1313: I suggest at least you thank SuperLibby72 for answering what it took more time to you... By the way, the controller info hasn't been updated properly on the page...
Is there a proper Windowed mode in this game?
I have a vague recollection of playing one of the later Comanche games in the late 90s, or maybe one of its clones. There was a stealthy helicopter, and it could 'jump' and do various other arcade-y things. So I'll probably check this out at some point.
As cool as this is, it reminded me of one of my early cares and favorite 90s attack chopper game they lifted the name from, Comanche: Maximum Overkill from Nova Logic. The game was a masterpiece, shame it's like lost unless you buy an old copy and setup a method to play it.
Oh man... Comanche was one of the first games I've ever played on PC. Looks like it's been almost 30 years! Good luck on the new release.

I have been having a hard time finding reviews of this new Commanche game on youtube.

But I found a gameplay video where at least 90% of the time, the view of the enemies is blocked because the head of the man in the cockpit, and also the "dashboard" (or whatever it's called) of the helicopter keeps floating up and blocking the view.

I can't tell if the player whose footage I'm watching is just bad at the game and playing it wrong, or alternatively, if the game has a major defect in its design, wherein it forces your view of the battlefield to become blocked constantly.

Can anyone who has this game please clarify these points?

I have no idea, but if anyone wants to gift the game to me, I will gladly play it and make a video of it, you know...to help you.

The controls of this game are horrifically bad.
