Sailing the Uncharted Seas

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, a delightfully colorful action RPG, is available now for Windows - DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas started out as a mobile game, but don't quit reading here. It was one of those titles that somehow made it to mobile devices first, despite the fact that its scope and graphics seemed to be more fitting for a bigger, more standard gaming device. Oceanhorn quickly became one of the highest rated, and most critically acclaimed mobile games recently released - the biggest criticisms seemed to lie somewhere along the lines of "It would be better on PC" and "It's a bit too similar to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and A Link to the Past". How's that for a humblebrag?

Sail off on a charming, beautiful action adventure in Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas - available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 20% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, March 24, at 12:59 PM GMT.

Russonc: looks like an old Sega Dreamcast RPG... might add this to my wishlist for now

gogamess: Do you mean Skies of Arcadia? That game was great :)
yep....!
So we can't have an Android port but we have a PC one ? Ok, then... that'll have to do...

Lord1238: I rescently saw this as a indie review on youtube, for pc port, about a week ago.
It seems the ios interface has been improved to be more computer friendly.
Also, the graphics with out being changed are not stretched like some other ports of tablet games.

I for one am going to get a copy. There is every few Zelda-likes, for computers.
And the best up to now are Anodyne and Pandora Seed.
You should try:

- Treasure Adventure Game, it's free ( http://www.gog.com/game/treasure_adventure_game )
- Spud's Quest ( http://www.spudsquest.com/ )
- Guardian of Paradise, it's free ( http://www.pixelprospector.com/guardian-of-paradise/ )
- An Untitled Story, it's free and if you don't mind the Windows Paint-like graphics ( found on: http://www.mattmakesgames.com/)

Don't know if you have played these before but for me, I found them to be excellent games with a Zelda-like feel.
Thanks for the tip about dragging the menu. Not being able to turn the music off was very annoying.
Now I see how it can be configured !
Great release!
I don't want to make yet another obvious Legend of Zelda comparison (even though I just did), but this game looks amazing and I'm glad it's on GOG. Wishlisted for now, I will buy it as soon as I can, this is one I actually *need* to try for myself, and if I hadn't bought Shelter 2 for my girlfriend, Bastion, The Fall and Clive Barker's Undying last Friday I would have definitely bought Oceanhorn as soon as it came out.

Keep it up, GOG! I'm liking your latest releases a lot!
While I would have waited maybe a little to buy this, I got stuck with two extra hours of work last night (not to mention doing the work of two people at the same time) - thanks you unreliable mofos who decide not to show up for work... again! - and that covered the purchase of both this and FEAR 2. At least something good came out of it. :)
In case some of you want to have a look:

Thanks, Piranjade, I'll definitely watch that one! :D

Mobile Legend of Zelda game? You lost me there...

It's not a Legend of Zelda game, it's just inspired by the Zelda series (undeniably so, if you look at the game's trailer and screenshots you get an obvious Zelda feel). And, yes, it's just "another mobile port", so, if you are put off by mobile games coming to PC, feel free to skip it. Personally, I more than welcome a Zelda-like experience on PC and outside Nintendo consoles, so I'll definitely pick this one up.

You may also be interested in knowing that when this game came out on mobile (iOS, to be precise, no Android version as of now), it was deemed "the best Zelda experience not on Nintendo hardware", and many reviewers and users felt like it should be released on PC -- if you're worried about the game suffering from poor touch-to-gamepad control port issues, fret not, as the game was released on iPhone and iPad at a time when iOS controllers were all the rage and it already runs pretty well without touch controls (in fact, it was designed with a controller in mind from the get-go).

I can't wait to buy and try this game, myself, and until then all I can say to you is based on impressions and a bit of speculation.
Zelda on my PC? This pleases me. In my pants.

This seems to be excellent, if the screenshots, trailer and reviews can be trusted.

The price looks good too, for the quality and amount of content ( ~15+ hours of gameplay? ).

I'm not really familiar with Twitch.tv, so pardon me if it's a slly question, but is there any way to watch the stream outside of its actual streaming hour (like several hours later or the next day)? I'd be interesting in watching this, but I don't have time on Thursday evening ... :/
