This should always be how it's done with re-releases and updated versions of old games. Never just remove the original. Either keep it up or include it in the new re-release.

Speaking of which, can we finally get the original Doom 3 + RoE here?

So just to be sure if opposite is true, if you buy this new updated version, you get OG free as separate entry as well?

Isn't that exactly what most remasters do? Adds compatibility, hi-res/widescreen support, some bugfixes and small graphical improvements.

I can't confirm it since I had the original game beforehand, at the moment I have 2 separate entries in my library and there is no option to download legacy version from a re-released game in my case.

The term "remaster" kind has been muddled during this past decade.

But it is indeed true that remastering can be done in pretty any style.
One could call a conversion of VHS-cassette into DVD a remaster especially if there is also some loudness equalisations and other small image-quality-edits done onto it.

Then there is of course the opposite where we can outright call things as "digital ruination" and "digital destruction" which unfortunately seems to become more and more trendy nowadays...

As for the term "re-release", that would more of apply to things has been re-published without any sort of editing, like say a new print of books or board-games.

Maybe someone else will have an answer... I'm asking because when I bought a copy of Pathologic few months back I also got HD version added for free. Or it was vice-versa, can't remember. It would nice if that's the case here-for the sake of preservation of older, original version.

No, but there's Joy2Key and reWSAD that both cost $7... $25 for an advanced version of reWSAD.

Before Demons Souls, there was Severance: Blade of Darkness, the first truly great 3D fantasy melee combat adventure. Okay there was Die by the Sword first, but that wasn't nearly as good as S:BoD.

It's great to see it back for sale again. Thanks for the free update GoG!
