Yes I know GoG isn't really selling these, but my attempt at googling are fruitless so I figure a thread is best!

So lets hear what android games you like and for this thread if we could keep it to games which are:

1) Not MMO
2) Not loaded with "online purchases" (a few are fine, but ideally not more than a couple)

So in short its more looking at those single player all included titles - mostly because many of the "free to play mmo" and such games are very well advertised and top most of the listings and google rankings so easily the rest get buried under a sea
Off the top of my head:

· "Monument Valley"
· "Hook"
· The "Quell" series
· "Blek"
· "Dark Echo"
· "Out There"
Dr. Who Legacy, essentially a match-3-or-more with some manner of story, but quite fun to play in short bursts every once in a while.

While there are several possibilities for purchasing stuff, just about everything is optional and can be acquired fairly easily without paying. There are only three things you cannot get without using money: the Fan Area, Kids Area, and the Sonic Adventures, of these, I would recommend getting the Fan Area (automatically added when you make your first purchase of 6 Time Crystals or more, for about $4,5 or 3£, you also get the option of turning off ads) while the other two are very much optional. Beyond that, you can purchase characters and crystals that can just as well be acquired by playing the game.

- The Chaos Rings games (haven't tried 3, but especially 2)

- The Tales of Illyria series (especially the first two; the latest one introduced microtransactions)

- The Last Express (classic, and the mobile version includes hints that help a ton)

- MechaNika (short, but a fun little adventure game most people haven't heard of)

- 80 Days (lots of writing, but it's great writing)

- Hitman Go (great puzzle game based on the Hitman franchise, though it has microtransactions in the form of optional hints if you get stuck)

- Terraria (kind of hard to control on Android, but it's still Terraria)

- Game Dev Story (addictive as hell)

- Detective Grimoire (an adventure-lite with great music)

- Big Action Mega Fight (a side-scrolling brawler best played with a bluetooth keyboard or controller)

- Devil's Attorney (demented and fun turn-based RPG-lite)
Shadowrun Returns
Broken Sword 1,2,5
Blackwell 1,2,3
KOTOR

There are various other PC ports.
Install f-droid Free Software repository, then Frozen Bubble is the title. F-droid is also a great way to not trash your device.

My favorites would be Hoplite and Smash Hit. The latter is an abstract first-person ball shooter. Uhm. Yeah. The former is the finest roguelike on mobile. Both have a free version, and only a single purchase should you find you need / want it. IMHO, you probably won't need it for Hoplite and you probably will want it for Smash Hit. Or perhaps I'm just better at roguelikes than shooters.

Edit:
I second Detective Grimoire and Frozen Bubble :)

Some really neat suggestions!

I've also found out that Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Icewind Dale HD editions are also on android (sadly no IWD 2 :( ).

Out of interest anyone know of any good turn based strategy games? I've tried searching for them but whilst there's a lot that look great they are all those MMO style games (ergo slow building times - multiplayer focused with micro transactions around every corner)
Pixel Defenders Puzzle
CrossMe (also Color)
Refraction
Trainyard
Might & Magic: Clash Of Heroes
Badland
EDGE Extended
If you like the Elder Scrolls games there is a game series called RavenSword, there are 2 of them. Fairly decent games, the second one, Shadowlands, is even for the comptuer.

Another series would be the Avernum and Avadon games (text heavy). Or even the Shadowrun games!
I created a thread about related stuff a while back, but there were some games listed as well. My interest in mobile games is generally limited to "light" stuff, so keeping that in mind:
Android Apps for the Poor Paranoid Loner:
Simon Tatham's Puzzles
Battle of Colours
Stiled
Pixel Dungeon
Hot Death
Green Mahjong
Vector Pinball
Robot Finds Kitten

Also, if your phone is good enough to run it, there is an android port of ScummVM, so you can play your ScummVM games which you bought here on your phone

You could try Curated, it's basically a guy or some guys from Reddit trying out games and adding them to the database with a little 'review' and some features such as offline mode.
Fallout Shelter look great and i think it's not pay and win game it made by bethesda who made the fallout series
and other games like elder scrolls i think you will like it

Umm, I'm pretty sure it's pay to win, except there really is no winning, just the grind that is a game. It's definitely "free to play" with in-app purchases for in-game currency.
