I think this program yet again proves that the GoG people are for gamers. It is a great idea and I hope people won't try to abuse it, but based on the success of DRM free I think this community is mostly honest people.

I've kept nearly every game I got since I was a kid. I'm talking about PC games from the original floppy disc version of Tie Fighter, X-Com Terror from the Deep, and my old NES version of Mega Man 6. It is very reassuring to know that I can come here and get a DRM free copy of my old PC games that will work with the current OS. I don't think I really ran into an issue with this until I tried to play Mechwarrior 2 on Windows 7 a couple of years ago.

I have boxes and boxes of my old games, most of them with the original package. It is so reassuring to know that many of them are kept safe in this digital format. Not only are they safely stored, but more easily accessible than digging through my entire closet through all the boxes to find it, and I can confidently install and run my game for whatever classic fix I'm looking for.

Then there is the main perk of getting the old games that are no longer available. It may be a game you had and lost, or a game that you never got a chance to buy when it was on the market.

I don't know what the demographics are of the ages of the average GoG account holder, but I would assume that it is a pretty wide range. Many of the younger gamers probably don't know what an epic service GoG truly is, but all of us older gamers truly know and appreciate it.

You guys have truly made a gamer's dream come true, thank you!
Is that so? GoG promised free DRM with every game, and guess what? I didn't get any drm so far..
Thought you can only reclaim a couple of new games, like Stalker.

Correct. Exactly 6 games, to be exact. It's a pitiful list, to be honest. It's a nice initiative, but rather useless given the current lineup.

To be fair its three for worldwide customers (Stalker games) and 6 for russian speaking countries.
More coming soon!
That was 8 months ago.

Yeah, I know. Me too :) Sad thing is that I did own Mount & Blade games and couldn't reclaim it here :)

Also, on Steam the list for reclaimable games is like seven pages long.
So they're seven times more people for gamers than GOG.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I assumed it would only show me the games I could personally reclaim. Dunno why, really. I don't have any reason to have that much faith in GOG's web developers, quite the opposite in fact.
You may add all three The Witcher games to the list.
I think it says that everyone can reclaim all 6 but 3 of em were only sold offline in Russia.

Anyway, I tried to reclaim Stalker CoP, and it does recognize the code as containing the game, but on the redeem page after the captcha where it shows the game and you have to click continue, it always pops up a window that says "Something went wrong, try reloading" when you click continue. Same after reloading.
Anyone know the problem?
I think you guys missed the point. I'm just saying that GoG is a gamer's dream come true and the reclaim program is just another example of them doing things for gamers. Yes it's only 6 games, but I don't really know another company that would give you any. I have faith they will add more and even at 6 it's beyond generous compared to other companies. Look at Sony for example, making none of their systems backward compatible anymore. It's funny that the PS3 lost the ability and they began the hardware limitations to coincide with their PS Store where you have to buy the same games you own again in order to play them.

Hey, now. I'm younger than all of you people here, and I've always held it in much higher value than Steam or even Humble Bundle for not only its services, but its helpful staff and dedication to treasured old games which I'd just never be able to play otherwise.
