Symphony8: According to the Real Myst Masterpiece Edition store page, there are still day/night cycles.
Only for Myst Island, and I think Selenitic and Channelwood. Pretty sure Mechanical is stuck to daytime but (unless they've changed this over the last year or so) Stoneship is always raining at night.
I've never quite understood the difference between Myst, Real Myst, and Myst: Masterpiece Edition, and now I'm even more confused, because why was Cyan selling "Real Myst" all these years if they felt it didn't accurately represent their vision of the game?

Okay.

So there's Myst and Myst Masterpiece Edition. These both use a static slideshow picture format. They are both the oldest.

RealMyst uses realtime 3D rendering to breathe life into the ages of Myst. Real Myst Masterpiece is a remake of RealMyst, using the Unity engine to breathe more detail and visual flair. So they are discontinuing RealMyst because it's from the 2000s and doesn't work very well anymore and looks a bit naff.
