Check out this guest article by Hooded Horse, the publishing company behind 5 strategy games that will soon arrive on GOG.COM.

The strategy genre is one of the original pillars of PC gaming. Over several decades, strategy games as a whole have consistently stood apart via the sheer scope and innovation of their mechanics, from controlling massive armies to colonizing entire galaxies.

Here at Hooded Horse, everyone in our team is a huge fan of the genre. We’re an indie strategy game publisher, and we are excited to have the chance to help developers around the world publish and promote the games we all love.

We’re also big fans of GOG, and our personal libraries here are filled with amazing strategy games both old and new. As firm believers in GOG’s mission of bringing DRM-free games to players, we’re thrilled to have the chance to present some of our upcoming games on GOG and talk a bit more about what inspired us to publish them...

Nice writeup! Excited for these games.

Didn't realize The Way of Wrath was theirs too - I've had that on my wishlist since I saw it during an "Upcoming Games" sort of promotion on GoG a while back (where they showcased a bunch of stuff that was in the pipeline - still waiting for Dark Envoy!).

Looks like it recently got a graphic overhaul - it used to be a little more abstract and a lot more angular (almost Massive Chalice vibes with a Long Dark background).

Welcome Hooded Horse to GOG! :)
Nice article and some of these look very promising. Looking forward to their release day here. Keep them coming!
.
Well, these look delightfully refreshing. I've been smashing out the hours on EGS with Old World, so really looking forward to rack up the hours when it and their new games come out here!
Uh ... where's the article?

Have to read from front page news and not forums:

A couple of questions:
1) Does Hooded Horse have any particular release quality policy or is that up to the developers? That is, where on the spectrum between "the release versions expected to be essentially complete other than obscure system specific issues" and "development is expected to continue for years after release".
2) What is the intent for DLC for these games?

Edit: I noticed this is mostly answered in a comment on another thread.

I'm curious how they're funded seeing as they've got so many games in development with only one having been released thus far.

Definitely interested in Old World, Falling Frontier, and Terra Invicta. :)

Yep, there will be long-term support and expansion for each title. Otherwise, it depends on the game--Falling Frontier will be an early access release with only the first 1/3 of the storyline campaign initially in (the rest to come with free updates during early access), while some other games will be complete v1.0 releases.

Thanks! To answer your question above, our shareholders are a small group of private investors who are all fans of strategy games.
