OneFiercePuppy: Had to tab away because the video was making me irrationally angry but that's a lovely song, though it threw me for a spin. Was sure I heard of that guy but had to Google it - his band in the 90s had a song on the Mallrats soundtrack. That's where I'd heard of him before. But that sing you linked is pretty good once it gets going. 7/10 anyway, maybe 9 for the song alone if it didn't come with that godawful video.

Canadian music, eh? Well then we're gonna hear about The Last Saskatchewan Pirate just because if I have to have this damned song in my head, someone else should, too.
7/10 I wanted to give it a 4/10 but I couldn't help but get into it. We need a no camp rule on this thread. We'll never speak of this again!

First thought was, "what is this, lo-fi post-grunge?" Previous page, the Pinecone linked some shoegaze and you're giving us more. For the genre, that's 9/10. That's real good stuff. Really like finding new stuff in threads like this one.

Only doing this because the fairly long name of that band reminded me of something else and I wanted an excuse to write it all out. So here's Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hands, by The Primitive Radio Gods.
Video not available, apparently...

Oh, and since I'm still being trashed by flu and hadn't checked since, regarding your mention of the competition (post 21), those that made it through that semi were this, this and this. First two are painful to listen to imho (don't count that bit of violin in the first one's favor as actually belonging to it).

Anyway, found your song. Rather nice atmospheric tune for 4 min, would have gone with 7, but the last minute and a half, ugh. Let's just leave it at 6/10, though that part hurt my ears...

Hm... Considering the links above as just an aside, not part of the game... Ya know, can't think of particularly long song titles right now. Can do '96 and soft though, albeit very well known I'd say: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dl6CLWLMzk

Will give a 6/10, not a bad song but a bit on the bland side.

6/10 - it's fun, nice to listen to (or dance to I suppose), but hardly anything one would call great music

Now, how about some alternative rock crime noir?
Rock&Roll + Car is a tale as as old as recording music itself: 7/10

Decent. Gets kind of repetitive, lyrically.
I give it 40 out of 60 "It's heaven"s.

And now: dead musician inception.

OK, on a personal level, you've got a signer I don't much like singing a song I definitely don't like by another singer I don't much like. But that's a nice way to change the sound of a song while still clearly respecting what it's trying to convey, so I guess that's a 7/10 anyway, 8 if you're a fan of nearly a capella covers.

Given Dr. Hawking's recent passing, I feel the need to resurrect some nerdcore rap from the early 2000s. Here's MC Hawking singing "Entropy"

Uh, rap... Still, let's go with 6/10 for how it's done.

Sciency stuff, eh? Helion Prime it is then, I guess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0VfnqLUs8M

Hmm,...I say 5/10 (not really my thing)

But since we're talking sciency stuff in regard to Dr. Hawking's death...how about this:

Version A (original) :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AeAulRgkw4

or, alternatively, this:

Version B (cover) :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvXaLZZ6M3M
8/10 that's a really good cover.

Aw, 90s underground rave music? You and I both know that song is gleefully crap, but I'll go with 7/10 for nostalgia's sake.

Well if you've giving us a song about how Goode E. is I guess I can dig up a remix of Keoki that I heard a time or two in the 90s in maybe a warehouse somewhere. Ego Trip (Cirrus remix) by Keoki. Yeah, it's even worse music than your offering, Doc ;)

Man, that's just painful to listen to. 2/10

Let's see if captain Kirk can save us. It may get me laughed out of the thread, but I honestly think this cover is better than the original.

1/10 just no.

1/10 o.O

But I can offer something in regard to Kirk, too:
