Attacked on Titan.

FLASHBACK™ is now available for pre-order DRM-free, 10% off.

As resilient as its scientist protagonist, the legendary platformer FLASHBACK™ returns in its 25th anniversary with an additional Modern mode! It brings a post-FX graphic filter, remastered music and sound, tutorials, and a Rewind function which should make your attempt at escaping Titan slightly easier.

The game will be released on GOG.com on December 4th.

Spectrum_Legacy: Yea, I still get some nightmares from those screenshots. I have no idea why anyone would prefer those smeary filters to crisp pixels, or even playing it on a crt monitor at low/native resolution.

Luckily it says on storepage that it contains the classic game, so I believe you can turn em off or play the classic version. Whew!

omega64: Except from the wording to use the new features like rewind it seems like you'd be stuck with the awful filter. :/
Or... you could read what I wrote earlier, like the others here: If it is at all like the Switch version (and why shouldn't it) you can turn off a few settings, e.g. just use AA. Or even all the filters, if you so choose.
Looking at the optical presentation, I have to say: there is a reason, why "Cel-Shading" is a thing.
I would not want to associate with anyone who actually thinks these kind of visual smear filters are actually good.

But as long as you can turn that crap off and nothing is missing elseways, I'd be up for this.
Cool. I've actually never played this game, so it's something to look forward to. :)

Flashback is terrific, but I hope "Modern mode" means that it's optional, because the graphical update has, imho, completely removed the charm of the game.
For "modern" I would expect at least the standard widescreen support.

The game includes the original version + plus the shitty "Post-FX graphic filters", which means that you can play with the original beautiful pixel graphics.

Or maybe I don't read every single post in a thread. ;)

Thanks for the information though.
Heard a lot about the game from my then amiga fans although i had an atari st and it was never released for it. Might pick it up sometime.
Look a game i played on the sega mega drive and beaten it. Pretty cool game.
This is a good time to mention REminiscence, which is an open source engine remake for Flashback.

tinyE: *checks watch*

People bitching GOG no longer sells any classic old games in 3,2,1....
"Released: December 4, 2018"
Me wants!

EDIT: Gfx filter is completely redundant for this game. Hope you can toogle it off and keeping remastered music in the same time.

EDIT: ...and Fade to Black, next pls

Nice, if the dreadful filter can be turned off.
