All of that will await us in Age of Wonders 4.

Pre-order this strategy and role-playing title like you’ve never seen before now and make your mark on its vast, reactive world.
Triumph is one of the very few studios that I will consider pre-ordering from. I didn't regret Planetfall and I doubt I'll regret this.
Since Paradox is the publisher, I'll wait for the final version, you never know when the DLCs will stop coming.
Nice the vids for this make this seem like a ton of fun.

Holy cow though, inflation has hit the gaming scene hard. I was hopping it wouldn't but this seems to be becoming "normal" now.
You know , you can grab a bunch of better games from the GOG spring promo for the price of the premium edition .
My memory is full of holes, but I could've sworn I read somewhere during the Planetfall cycle that they were getting away from making more games in the fantasy line. I guess that either they changed their mind, or I'm imagining things. Maybe both. Anyway, I'll probably be dead before the price drops to an acceptable level for me, so I don't even know why I care.
I really hope the AI would be lot improved compared to aow3 or planetfall. Poor ai made planetfall quite boring to play.
So i will wait until i hear players impressions on the AI, before getting this.

Paradox is the publisher, not the developer. Triumph makes these games and you do know when the DLC will stop coming. They made 3 expansions for Planetfall like they said they would, the end, there isn't any more.

I doubt it.

Too bad for you, I guess.
Looks great, might grab it day one.
Really good news this announcement. We all know that the "Homm like" genre is a very popular one here at GOG.

I also appreciate the fact that Paradox is releasing their day one games again. I hope we will have some announcements soon for "Cities Skyline 1 and 2" and especially for "Life by You". Please GOG, get them out!!!
Minimum System Requirements > Graphics
> Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 670 (2GB) or AMD® Radeon™ HD 7870 (2GB) or Intel® Iris™ Xe G7 (Tiger Lake)

-> higher than expected for a TBS game. Have doubts a not-so-old laptop like mine's covers them. Shame on me, should upgrade :-( Still, I don't mind ugly TBS graphics with reasonable fps.
Looking forward to this.
It's a great news that AoW 4 is coming to GOG. I played pretty much all previous Triumph Studio games.

I'm just a little concerned about Paradox being the publisher since I'm not a big fan of their neverending DLC bloatware "business plan".

Yeah, just like the endless DLC for Age of Wonders 3 and Planetfall.

...Oh wait, that didn't happen.

von_Hardenberg: You can kvetch about Paradox and their DLC strategies as long and hard as you want, but Triumph was never part of that, and their output quality in regards to DLCs across the entire AOW series, along with their efforts at balancing and adding features for free (like Planetfall's Empire Mode), has been never been anything less than stellar.
Totally and wholeheartly agree! I have a lot of respect for their model of releasing add-ons to latest games. Solid content, limited quantity (plus possibility to buy game together with season pass) and what I liked on the example of Planetfall - races we've received in base game are fully developed and there are no tricks with additional (important) units added in next DLCs (like it was in case of Gladius: Relics of War, for example).

In fact, it is quite amazing that being under Paradox, Triumph still keeps the current model. I like it and respect it. Not to mention that both their recent games (AoW 3 and Planetfall) are highly enjoyable titles (I'm still playing in Planetfall :)). AoW 4 on GOG is great news. And hey, it will have good old hot-seat mode!

(even if I don't like too much the fact that aside from hot-seat, multiplayer in AoW 3, Planetfall and probably in AoW4 also is DRM-ed with registering to their internal service, but I guess you can't have everything).
Triumph accumulated a lot of good will with me, especially with Planetfall. I had a look through the Dev Diaries over on their forum and I'm looking very much forward to it. Looks like the radical changes in Planetfall got a lot of refinements for this iteration.

I'm not buying things of this price level on impulse but I'm almost certain I'll go for the Deluxe after a couple of days of refletion. With Planetfall, it was worth the season pass both from a money-perspective as well as from a content-perspective...
