tinyE: WHY ARE EVERYONE'S DESKTOPS SO EMPTY!?!?! Mine is covered with 10 million icons, most of which are games I bought here. I know damn well some of you have good sized hard drives so it's not a lack of space. I suppose it's possible most of you only keep two or three games installed at a time but the very thought of living like that scares the shit out of me.

amok: I just don't use desktop icons very much at all, I find them more distracting than helpful

My better half is the opposite - she places everything on the desktop. No idea how she manages.

I used to have a folder with quick icons to every game I had installed, but now I just stick them on Steam for convenience.

I've got over 50 folders in the game partition of my HDD, in case you're interested. One of them is Steam, which probably counts as 25 or so.

You'd get agoraphobia from my desktop.

1600*1200*2+2560*1440 = three screens with a total of over 7.5 million pixels and (usually) a single 48x48 px icon, the trash can (sometimes a document or folder for something I'm working on, before I file it where it should be).

Do work desktops qualify? 2x 23" Dell P2312H at 1920x1080 and currently waiting for a smaller 3rd one (hope for 17/19") to use in portrait for lots of text, these are just too tall for that.

I'll just upload the picture I use (shrunk down to a quarter of the size), because I have a lot of icons on my desktop. I like scenic images.

I see a Bloodlines icon on your desktop. The man has taste.

Cheers mate, you actually reminded me to get Redemption out of the attic to play over the long weekend here :)

To me, the cleaner the better, also applies to both drives, I don't like having garbage or unused software in my PC, just music, what I want installed and important files and documents.

Where do you muchachos get those neat desktop widgets for win7? I just started using it a few days ago so I'm still getting used to it.
