alexandros050: All THQ Nordic games seem to be up to date and they update their games very fast + they also release new games like darksiders III and other new games here.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: THQ Nordic definitely treats GOG customers like second-class citizens by not giving Achievements to some of their GOG games whilst those same identical games on Steam do have Achievements.
Achievements is a false sense of accomplishing something your really not. it's just thrown in there cause the hype train that was xbox 360 at the time with those achievement point hoarders and now became a standard with a "majority" of games

Don't let that change your perception of a company. just be happy we got a good working game with recent updates and it's DRM Free! :)

I disagree with those statements, and I assume other Achievement fans would also.

There is no good excuse for THQ Nordic - and/or any other publishers/devs - to include features into their games on other platforms but then not bother to include those same features on the GOG version. That includes features that not everyone likes, i.e. Achievements.

That is not treating all customers equally. In THQ Nordic's case (and all other publishers/devs who do likewise, of which there are many), it's privileging Steam customers by giving them more value/features for the same product, and treating GOG customers like second-class citizens by giving them a sub-par product that has less value/features.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. I have seen one of the developers post in the forum a few times, including once as a reply to a post I made about the game being run at AGDQ2018.

(With that said, the forum doesn't see much total activity; I guess not many people are interested in a remake of a 1989 game that was released on a less popular console.)
ADOM's Jochen was super nice to produce a beta build with a custom SDL2 version that fixed an issue on macOS Mojave: https://www.gog.com/forum/adom_ancient_domains_of_mystery/mac_black_screen/post6

Very much appreciated!

Celton88: DarkGod of Tales of Maj'eyal is also awesome and super involved.
DarkGod might be one of the most fantastic devs ever, the way he interacts with the community on a regular basis after all these years is unparalleled.

That goes for the ADOM-team as well. There's something about roguelike devs.

Well they did include achievements for darksiders III so maybe they know how to get them to work now. Anyways for me achievements are not important if they have them that's great if not , it is not the end of the world. If I wanted achievements I would be on steam. As long as they release their games Drm free and have them always up to date I will be happy. :)

That's the opposite of what the thread is about. Reread the starting post.

how about you re-read

PookaMustard: I'd shout to Buckshot Software - of Project Warlock.
I agree. They read comments and posted in the forums, and eventually announced new features added to the game based on the feedback. Plus, it was a timed exclusive release on GOG, so for once we were the privileged ones.

I did, and didn't see anything particularly whiny or entitled. Instead it was almost all positive, hoping to highlight some gaming "good guys".

I guess we're interpreting it completely differently.

I disagree. DRM is "feature" and we're glad it's missing. I found achievements generally to be also an anti-feature and prefer when they're not there to mess with the player.

I do agree -- if the game has achievements on Steam, it should probably also have them here (since they're tracked already in the game's code...), but I'd prefer the game simply not have achievements at all anywhere. Except doesn't Steam force games to have them? Or was that Live?
I would like to give a shout-out to "Vile Monarch" for "Oh...Sir!! The Insult Simulator"

Most of the time smaller games aren't compatible with any GOG Galaxy features but here you have achievements, cloud support and a fully working cross-platform multiplayer. That's right you can play with people on Steam without any problems. The game is also working on Windows, MAC and Linux and came with bonus content !

In my opinion that's a lot of effort for a 1,99€ game ! :)
