No, all you want is others buying games for you. It blows my mind that even in a thread where you bitch about others being unfriendly towards you for no reason you have the nerve to beg for games.

Oh? Well, it is considered bad form to ask for gifts, as the some in the community are protective of people who give gifts from being taken advantage of by opportunists that don’t participate in the forums or seem to purchase games from GoG (to support the site, publishers and developers).

Be patient and participate in conversations to get known a bit around the forums. If you know any ways to help get games running when there are issues, or even better, you can talk about games you have played and can give tips, reviews or recommendations for games others might want to play (or avoid) , that helps the community a lot.

And of course, you can participate in the giveaways , some are quite creative contests.

Well, if you walked into a convention and got up on stage with a mic and asked if any one person in the convention hall could buy you some games, everyone would think that was weird, right? Nobody knows you yet, so they're all thinking, "Whatta mooch!"

It's a matter of intent. Is your intent to join the community and make friends and talk about games you care about, or is it just to get free stuff? I mean, sure, a bunch of people here give away games every now and then, and GOG even gives away games once in a while...but you're a lot more likely to get gifted things on your wishlist if you've demonstrated that you're really not in it just for the free stuff, you know? It's a reciprocity thing. Pretty sure the wishlists here are subtle for a reason.

Since you're new, it's probably not that big of a deal. There's plenty of room to improve your rep. Just keep in mind that this, like meatspace social interaction, is a give-and-take sort of thing. Take too much too often, and everyone'll notice.

Advice:

A few months after I joined here I made a thread similar to this and it only made the situation worse. Well now I am only 2 points from my fourth star and you know why? Because of some advice I got from a good friend of mine living out in Romania. He said to me, "Tiny, buy Sacrifice or I'll cut your other ball off." HOWEVER after he said that he told me to stop giving a shit, be myself, and fuck em if they can't take a joke. It's been aces for me ever since! :D

Oh and one more thing: going into the forum of a site that sells games, surrounded by people who pray every night and day for the financial success of the site so they might continue to hang out and purchase here, and then starting a thread about why you pirate; that is what we refer to in technical terms as a "Bad Idea". Oh it's not as stupid as making fun of a dead movie critic, but it's not good.
