I was just playing Bloodrayne and I love the games. But in the background, my daughter is playing the movie Frozen. It's kind of weird murdering people to the tunes of "Do you want to build a snowman" and "Let it go"

So what are some other surreal moments you've created either accidentally or intentionally by playing unfitting music over a game?
I used a mod in Oblivion to put my own music in for all the different regions of the game. I used wonderfully fitting music for the Jarell Mountains, the Imperial City Green Emperor Way, the streets of Cheydinhall...

But I put the music of Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler in all the pubs.
Well, nothing surreal, really, but whenever I game I always turn off in-game music and have other music playing. I suppose sometimes there is a dichotomy if I'm listening to something uplifting while on-screen I'm shooting people or swinging axes into heads. My musical mood doesn't always match my gaming mood.
Listening to jpop while playing nethack brings back memories, though I don't really listen to jpop anymore.
nothing surreal but i get so sick of hearing the same 50's tunes in fallout 3 that i usually use a custom radio station
and hearing the misfits belt out astro zombies while trapaising around the capital wasteland is a bit odd at times
Years ago, when I wanted to play Lemmings I would sometimes leave the disc for Descent 2 in the CD drive. The Lemmings game would read the audio tracks off the Descent disc and play them instead of the regular in-game midi music.

thats certainly surreal
I dunno, Let It Go seems like a pretty appropriate song to accompany a serial murder rampage to me! Elsa was reeeeeally holding back in that movie. It must have taken tremendous willpower not to skewer Hans and his footsoldiers through with icicles.

Shooters are pretty great for this. I've spent hours on end blowing stuff to smithereens in various games to stuff like Baltimora's Tarzan Boy on a loop. And ABBA. You haven't lived until you've shot up a small village to the sweet, sweet sound of Dancing Queen. Just take any shooter and overlap it with the campiest 80s music you can find.

Greeeeeat, now I want to make a Spice Girls mix to play over another shooter. Thanks. Thanks a lot. :|
Im inspired now.... I think im going to play though Hard Reset with nothing but 80's music.. because i can ^_^
Mortal Kombat is very good for any cup finals game in any Football Manager. :)
