mqstout: How is this different than Mortal Kombat 1+2+3?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat_Trilogy

The wiki page has a list of all additions.

But the Aggressor mode, new moves, character balances, and all characters from the first 3 games are the main things.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is essentially a Dream Match game that runs on the same system as Ultimate MK3, which brings in all characters from previous Mortal Kombat games into one, along with a few new ones and some returning ones. This includes:

-Johnny Cage (wasn't in MK3, they used a new actor for this one)
-Raiden (wasn't in MK3, they use his MK2 sprite)
-Rain (new ninja character)
-Noob Saibot (returning character, but first time playable)
-Chameleon (new ninja character, basically cycles moves between all the male ninjas)
-Alternate versions of Jax (MK2 version), Kung Lao (MK2 version), Kano (MK1 version) and Raiden (MK1 version)
-Playable Goro, Kintaro, Motaro and Shao Kahn

It also adds the Aggressor Meter, which has you do more damage when it fills up. And it adds Brutalities, a 10+ hit combo you do as a finisher to explode the opponent. I think there's more, but this is what I remember off the top of my head.

Crosmando: Whatever happened to that Arcade Collection that was on Steam?
If it's the Arcade Collection I'm thinking of that was launched with Games for Windows Live DRM, when GFWL ended I think the company just abandoned the game rather than patch GFWL out.

It can still be run but you need a patch and some finessing to get it to work.

It used Games for Windows Live and they didn’t bother patching it out or otherwise working around it.
I remember seeing these games in arcades when I was a kid.
A "toasty" discount eh? I see what you did there GoG!
Is the DOS version included? Thanks in advance.

No, the DOS version is available separately

MK was getting a little worn out at this point in time as 3D arcade and 32 bit consoles were more popular.

I was about to say there never was a DOS version of Trilogy, but Wikipedia seems to think otherwise. I only remember the Win95 version from back in the day, which is also what you are getting on GOG, albeit with some upgrades (ddraw to d3d9 wrapper for graphic compatibility and ipxwrapper for tcp/ip multiplayer).

That's a pack of the first three games. This is one game, an upgraded version of MK3 if you will, as WinterSnowfall, wolfsite (twice) and bmxjouster explained.

Still though, as bad as GFWL was, it probably still had a better multiplayer system than old TCP/IP. Would be nice to see a DRM-free version of it.

Yeah, there was.
Wasn't there a Kommunity Patch for MK Trilogy that added back a TCP/IP LAN multiplayer feature?
