Umm, do I need Photoshop for this Nix Collection?

No, you don't need Photoshop.
You can use the plugins with every photo editor that works with .8bf files or just use the stand-alone apps.

For example if you are using IrfanView , add the .8bf files to the plugins folder, it's possible to do that during setup.

Krita isn't too bad.
That's cool, thank you :)
Sweet Nik software went free eh? Wife paid for it years ago for her work in Photoshop CS as she's an amateur (semi pro level) photographer and swears by it.

But in the goodness of this thread I will throw this out there since I don't see anyone else doing it.
http://www.redmondpie.com/download-adobe-photoshop-cs2-for-free-legally-while-you-still-can/

Follow that, and the steps involved and you can get Adobe Photoshop CS2 absolutely free which you can register to yourself (set yourself as Admin when you run the install (ie: right click/run as admin) the first time you run it once it's installed or it will bitch at you every single time to register if you do not due to a windows permission issue.

They're really well made for each other since it started out as a photoshop plugin in the past and CS2 is a powerful tool and far less confusing/annoying than GIMP and has far more going for it than PAINT.NET (which I used for a stretch until this was made free.)

Looks very good, I can imagine it being pretty cool for using it with a digitizer.

StroggCore: Nice post, thank you. But I was hoping to get another information. You see, I have a problem with the photos themselves. TBH, I suck in taking pics and that's why they all are blurry.
They are usually blurry because of one of two: out of focus or too long exposure and the stabilizer can't cope.

What gave it away? ;P

0 games since they registered, plug their username into Google and you'll find plenty of similar posts like that one (gravedigging dead/dormant threads - but they slipped up on at least one other forum and threw a link in one of their posts).
Haha, it's been so long, and its interface is still crappy

JDelekto: While I do have the Adobe CS6 Suite, I must say that I've been a long time user of Paint .NET. Back when Adobe Photoshop was the bomb, it was prohibitively expensive compared to something like another alternative at the time, which was under the the $100 range and still pretty powerful.

When Paint .NET came along, it supported some really cool and necessary functionality, specifically layers and of course, the price was the best, *free*. (I did however, donate via PayPal.)

Now, when it comes to 3D modeling, rendering, animation, etc. on a budget, I don't think anything can beat Blender.
It's great to hear. I mean, when I was using those holidays stock photos for my presentations and stuff it was a huge headache trying to edit them in order for them to look like they were taken at the same time and using the same camera. However, it's much easier now
