So, if I receive a forum reply in a thread that has been deleted, does the purple dot saying I have one ever go away?

Hmmm, it did for me.

Have you tried picking at it?

Also, on a serious note, could you be missing a forum reply? Maybe something one of the game forums?

No, I'm pretty sure it was probably in Tauto's thread that got deleted last night.

I didn't even notice that was gone. XD

Yeah, lol, but I'm left with a reminder that I posted in there and someone said something to me. Even though I can guess who and perhaps what.

Look in your browser history for the url and drop it into Google to see if it still has the cache of the thread in there?

I believe the last time we had one of these "deleted thread" threads, it was pointed out that GoG doesn't do their 404s correctly and the search bots don;t recognize those URLs as such.

edit: Just checked and, no, there's no 'noindex' on their 404's.
What about archive.org? I have seen forum posts listed there before.

Thank god I had my black spot on!

Last week it was at the cleaners!

They used to have a policy where they wouldn't publicly list a URL for six months after creation for "legal" reasons.

Appears to be a lot less now:

3-10 hours. Hmmm......

edit: On the other hand, I didn;t get any notifications when I got here this morning but found 3 places where I was quoted.

The perma-dot issue has been reported already in our bug tracker :)

GOG just pulled one game from owner's library.

Meh, I can't seem to find it on archive.org.

Here's a link that'll give you a 404: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/wellgog_you_wont_say_it

If anyone can figure out the mystery, you get a Scooby Snack.

Ophelium: *snip*
First five posts come up for me when I dropped the url into google and clicked on the cached link.

The rest may show up in a day or so. Takes a bit for data to get from the bots to the indexers to the public facing computers. Or at least that's what I;ve discovered over the years.
