So the only way I could uninstall the game was simply deleting the game folder. Are there still some registry edits left in by doing this, and will future installs of the game be bugged because of this?

Anyone else had issues with installing outward, it took nearly half an hour before crashing on me.

Nope, I didn’t have that issue. Are you using galaxy? If so use the offline installers. Also, make sure you are not installing it to program files or something like that as windows may lock you out, use c:/games or something. Also, make sure you have enough free space.

Hard to tell without trying, so why don't you just try it?

I've had instances in the past in Windows where the uninstallation process hasn't worked as intended. I've usually fixed it by reinstalling that program, and then uninstalling it again, trying to make sure that no crap is left behind.

I don't recall having such issues with GOG games though (I am using offline installers, no Galaxy client).
Do you have enough space for the tmp folder? You will need a lot of extra space for installing as GOG installers squander resources like there is no SSDs under 480GiB.
If you want to change temp folders.
