tinyE: I know I know, and you know I'm only talking that way because it's you. :P I would never do that with someone who might actually be taking me seriously. :P

Don't forget I'm of Dutch ancestry. Shit my last name is so Dutch people are often surprised to find out I'm American.

And I don't blame you. As you have specifically mentioned it however I will make a point not to do it around you in the future.

BTW if it makes you feel any better, the people worst at doing that regarding America, ARE AMERICANS! :P I grew up in Missouri, had a guy in California mention he had a sister in Ohio and I might know her. He was serious.

my geographical knowledge of the usa is creaky but functional enough to know that is fucking impossible

maybe he was talking out of his ass ?
I usually get rid of most of my games as time goes on. Once I decide I'll never play it again, I sell it. Like TIE Fighter and Xwing and Star Trek Aramada. Stupid me!

Some I keep, though. But none of the ancient old ones I once had. Gone are all of the C64 and Atari. Gone are the NES and Sega. Gone are most of the XBOX titles, even.

I think it would be Hardwar (1998). And I actually had to re-buy it b/c I got rid of it ages ago. That was a weird game. I bought it at EBGames for 1 cent. They were giving them away. They said it sucked. I loved it. I was completely engrossed, played it death, then put it away. I got rid of it around 2002 or so. And then a strange resurgence came up and tons of people were playing it -- often networking together. I missed that heyday and only read about it on the Internets. But I ended up getting it again after talking to someone on GOG who said it worked fine and had an HD patch.

I have older games on disc, but they are newer bundles (for example, I had BG1 and BG2 w/o the expansions -- it was cheaper to just buy the $20 collection on DVD back in the day).

I like getting rid of games. It makes me feel good. Someone else can play them. And that's great. But there's a few I sorely miss. Most of which, however, I now own on GOG.
I own a working intellivision and now the flashback console (for games I did not have). Some of my favorite games are not on the flashback console but it is worth it for "Crown of Kings" formerly Cloudy Mountain/Dungeons and Dragons alone. Very unique game. The controller for intellivision is unique though only a fraction of the games fully utilized it and those games will never emulate right without the real controller.

Expect to die a lot until you figure this game out but if you set gradual goals for you will start realizing which sound/visual clues tell you which monster is nearby.

This much I will tell you

There are 4 difficulty levels as shown by the color of the end mountain

Grey Mountains have extra arrows
Blue Mountains have boats that let you cross water
Red Mountains have Ax which let you go through trees
Purple have a key that will open gates

You need two halves of the crown in cloudy mountain to win

Good Luck
On here it's Akalabeth, physically it's Tetris. Next physically is probably Mario Land 2.

No, it's typical California, in the same way that you were insulted by the idiocy of the Holland comment, difference being I was joking.
The oldest PC game I own from here is Riven and Real Myst. I have NES games too, so if you count console games, those would be the oldest, and even older still, is my vinyl record player and vinyl record collection.... 33 1/2, 45s, and 78s.
I have a chess, but it might not be the original.

Wait, actually I have a go too.
Oldest physical game is Wing Commander (1990) with Eye of the Beholder (1991) coming in a close second. Not coincidently, the first games I ever played.

Excluding free stuff like Akalabeth, my oldest game on GoG is probably Battle Chess. At the risk of taking a surprise baseball bat to the back of the knees, I'm not really here for the old games on a site called Good Old Gam- oww my legs!
Spacewar (1962), I guess. Oldest physical copy of a game would probably be my Pac-Man (1980) board.
Akalabeth, because it was free so why not. The oldest game that I've actually sought out, bought, and played is Might and Magic (1986). Or, depending on how you look at it, Tetris (developed 1984, but I own the Gameboy version, released 1989).
Oldest game I've actually bought, played and beaten: Ultima.

That would make a nice alternate thread: Oldest game you've beaten. I've have played some of the best ever all the way through but it's been a long time since I actually owned any of them.
Ignoring the freebie Akalabeth, it's Softporn Adventure (1981).

On physical copy, it's Dune 2 (1992).
Oldest physical game I guess would be Heroes 3 complete. I love that with my life, and yeah, I know I'm young. :D
