I did the same vote to look like I was doing something as mafia in game 32, so I tend to note now when that play is made.

Out of curiosity I went back and pulled the past 7 full games, and it looks like this:

35 JMich Town
36 Wyrm Town
37 HSL Mafia
38 Drealmer Town (though insane)
39 JMich Cult Leader
40 JMich Mafia
41 none? **

**(though flub was the only non-town on D1)

bler144: Trent and yogs are the only characters who are related to each other? Anyone else a brother/sister/aunt/uncle/secretlover of another player?
Why does this remind me a Sleepwalkers? Any cats in the village to test this? (if you don't remember this movie, you're not missing anything)

BTW, Wednesdays are currently my crazy day, my participation on Wednesdays may be minimal.
Hello, folks. I am back at being available again.

Because sleeping under the bench is not helpful for town. We should sharpen those axes of ours and go on the wolf hunt.

bler144: From a narrative perspective, I agree, it's a bit funny that it looks like a wolf attack and in response we...kill one of our own for some reason?
You know, having looked through the complete list of phases I thought a Morning might cover that, then some sort of event would move on to midday with the actual accusations starting to fly.

In any case (and in more OOC speculation), it's probably safe to assume there is some sort of scum faction among us, otherwise this game is the longest and most surprisingly detailed practical joke I have ever encountered*. :P

*Someone I know HAS done it in a smaller offline game of Werewolf, but without the Great Wall of Flavour. :P

In any case! (...I've said that twice, haven't I?)

My raving paranoia is telling me that Post #75 strikes me as a bit half-hearted.

( Exactly. Especially in such a flavour heavy game. Usually there is something in the OP gives some necessity for the lynches. E.g. something that says: you know there is a mafia/cult/werewolf/alien/whatever faction hiding among you and the only way to find them is by lynching. Or something along these lines. But in this game we have no clue yet what our opponent faction(s) is (are). There were some speculations that there might be werewolves, but nothing concrete. Nothing which would make a lynch seem a sensible option in-game. I know from a game mechanics point of view that we need to lynch on Day 1. But from a flavour point of view anyone suggestion to lynch one of us for no reason at all must be dangerously deranged. That's why I suggested in-game evidence collection in character.)

To mods: can we please find some hard evidence that proves there are some zealous zombies, wily werewolves, mad mafia murderers, vengeful vampires or creepy cultists among us? Anything that forces us to start lynching and make playing the game actually justified in-game? That would help!

*since no one else seems willing to do so, Sean'O investigates poor Julie's bones himself. He is no medic either, but he has seen many bones since his cows are butchered for their meat on a regular basis. Do Julie's bones bear the marks of a butcher knife? Or human teeth marks? Or marks of bigger teeth or claws? Or anything? *

It does seem as if we are in one of those horror movies where everyone assumes some sort of bear or mountain lion is on the loose and don't realize it's really a sick twisted person or a werewolf until half the cast is dead. If we are looking at this from a flavor perspective there would no reason to lynch anyone at this time. We would set traps all around the village, put people on guard duty at night, and make sure everyone travelled in pairs at the minimum.

The odd part for me is why did most of the village leave? This looks like a savage mauling by a crazed animal, and seeing as we should be use to fending for ourselves in the wild, one attack should not drive off most of the village.

On a side note, my character is one of the oldest people in the village. She is known for her singing, but is also good with plants and animals.

*in game*
Well Sean I don't have much experience with bones, but I have dealt with a lot of animals in my time and will help you examine the body.
What exactly are we dealing with here? Rouge wolves? Werewolves? Zombies? Cannibals? Demon possession? Witchcraft? Why did many of the villagers leave? Could someone actually be training wolves to attack people?

On a side note my character is known for taking care of the animals of the village.

*attempting to get in character and role play*

I admit I don't understand human behavior much; I understand animals much better. I have tended to and taken care of the animals in the village. What happened to Julie bothers me deeply. Animals typically don't behave that viciously. Sean, I'll help Emily look at the body. I may be able to determine what animal did this or if Julie was killed by human hands.

*now out of character*

I need to print out the character list.

(That's an interesting idea. We might be playing Brotherhood of the Wolf! Great movie!
Side note: I'm sure you have already gathered this from my post, but I am Sean'O, a cattle farmer. I have the village's largest herd and I supply meat and milk to the village.)

In play:

Thanks Emily and Laura. Let's hope that we find out what is going on here!

Yog's trademark "Slaughter the Useless" philosophy. Not doing it has certainly blownback in my face actually...

To elaborate, pretty much what Dess said - it's not towny. This is a game of reading people. If you aren't writing, you can't be read.

So although it's not GOG's meta - I seem to recall Yog got a frosty reception to STU, I am certainly becoming a Magic Circle fundamentalist. You're either in, or you're out. And by out I mean lynched.

Eventually of course, there might be better options in the meanwhile.

PS: [refreshes] heh, and here he is putting his vote where my mouth is... kinda... heh, not the prettiest mind image...

Urgh.

I think it's just Drealmer's meta shining through. We all love each other so much. Puff puff...

Puff puff

Anyway, let's see what Drealmer posts as the Day goes on.
