A visual novel with a dash of stat raising, you will follow a story and make choices leading to one of the many good and bad endings of the game – Leap of Love is now available on GOG with a -30% discount that lasts until October 26th, 4 PM UTC, and alongside its Dark Princesses DLC and Safe Edition.

You play as Kaheroux, a frog turned prince by a shady wizard. The catch of that spell is that he needs to find and marry a princess within a month or go back to being a frog. Luckily for Kaheroux the local king has three daughters and a lovely wife.

Check it out!

MarkoH01: Well, we just learned that the main focus of a VN - even one with lewd content in it - is NOT the porn and that there are things in it that are enjoyable even without the porn. So the "problem" does not exist.
Look, I'm not going to argue the merits of porn without porn, but I'm pretty sure the problem does exist. Regardless of how "valid" the censored version is, there being no option to get the uncensored one, even though GOG does sell porn now so there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be here, is a problem. If something like, for example, Fallout only got a GOG release with all violence removed the fact that we can still enjoy exploration and a good story wouldn't make it ok.

MarkoH01: I never said that this is my religion or anything like it. YOU tried to tell ME how a certain genre is working even though you obviously don't know this at all. If you are not sure that's fine by me but in that case you should not act as if you do The sentence

"Dude, a VN is mostly there because of the lewd content. "

could not be more wrong and you are stating it as if it would be a fact which it is not. If you would have said "in my experience ..." or anything like that everything would be fine but you acted as if you could tell me what these games are about and I actually have played them
Okay, I apologize for the way I expressed myself. You are right. Whenever I played a VN, it was one that revolved around lewd content. And there are soo many of them out there, like on a certain indie store. Some of them were actually not that bad, there was an interesting story in one or the other game but without the porn content, there would've been no "reward" or "goal" :)

My apologies again! :)

Exactly! This is what I meant. If I have a game, I want the full content, not a stripped down version.

Atreyu666: The point is that there seems to be a normal version and the one on GoG seems to be censored. That's the problem.
No that's not the problem. Because both versions are on GOG.

Oh. In that case, everyone please ignore my last post. My bad for not checking the facts of the case for myself I guess.

Okay, I've read the post again and I misinterpreted one post. My bad.

(They're really adding up here, I better leave this thread^^)
I respect that they added Achievements, which many/most VN games on GOG do not.

However, I do not buy censored games.

But I am unclear: is GOG offering both the censored and the uncensored version for sale on the link in the OP, and if you buy it, then you get both versions?

Or, is GOG selling the censored version only, and you don't get the uncensored one too if you buy it?

GOG appears to be doing the same thing they did with Zombie Shooting Star, and selling two versions of the game - one with adult content, one without.

The safe edition costs $7.99 CAD ($5.59 currently on sale), and is censored:

While the full version is $17.49 CAD ($12.99 currently on sale) and has no censorship warning:

Buying one doesn't appear to grant you access to the other.

Check the OP again. There are three links: one is for the censored version (called "Safe Edition"), other for the uncensored version and the third is for a DLC.

And no, buying either of the first two doesn't net you the other as a bonus. If you want uncensored you just buy uncensored, period.

Whoa! seems to be a very interesting dating simulator with both uncensored and censored one AKA Safe Edition! Glad to see another interesting dating simulator made its way to GOG. Hopefully they’ll decide to release the Ultimate Visual Novel Dating Simulator “Doukyuusei” here on GOG and other interesting stuffs from Shiravune if they can reach upon a deal in releasing their games here…

And in addition, its somehow short sighted to consider as Visual Novels as purely lewd games since the Visual Novel genre is very diverse. Here’s a link to a guide to the different kinds of Visual Novels and the terms used and what to expect in playing/reading them…

Atreyu666: So you get a p*rn game that's not actually p*rn which is most likely the only justification for its existence... Why would I buy it?
The assumption that the game is a collection of sex scenes, is wrong.

These are novels, some with actual gameplay. The 'porn' factor comes from the financing model. They get more people to subscribe to these games/Novels during development, if they put lewd scenes in.
In many VNs the mandatory sex scene in each update often looks very forced and does not fit in at all.

You have a very wrong view about how these games actually play. No one but the enemies call them "porn" games, these are games or Visual Novel or adventures or dating simulators, JRPGs, in one case even a pinball game. They just have some adult content, that's all. The classic porn games hardly exist anymore.

The achievements in these games are just the same as in other adventures, with or without adult content. In two words: story progress.

And in case of some more elaborated games like House Party there are a lot more things you can achieve, like winning the pool game or stuff like that.

whenever I see \ hear claims that "all VNs are lewd and AO ones are lewd a lot more than fully" I want to ask such claimers to play... well, screw that. I won't list games they should try to understand what they're talking about. guess, I'm too tired of giving a f.
glad that there's no shitstorm this time, though.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that in addition to them having added Achievements to the GOG version, I am also impressed by how this game has given full English voice-acting to all of the Princess characters.

Usually in VN games, they either have no VA at all, or at most, they have Japanese-only VA.

Nice to see that these devs take the presentation of their games seriously and actually put in money and effort in order to try to make their games good for their customers, unlike a lot of devs of other similar games.

Apology accepted - everything is fine. If you can live with lewd scenes in VNs you really should do yourself a favor and try "Leap of Faith". Imo it is one of the best VNs ever made and after playing it you will never again think that VNs are shallow, unrealistic or just a collection of lewd scenes,

*note to myself*
Should I ever develop a game, I'll mark it as a NSFW title, seems to be a sure-fire way to gain some traction.

I wish every announcement thread would get that many comments. :P
