tinyE: I understand that this is a problem for some but I think there might be a tad bit of overreaction here. I for one am happy so long as the games are there, and I have over 600 of them! :P I say, make sure I can get to and play the games, fuck with the shelf later. :D

skeletonbow: One way or another things will sort themselves out over time. Patience is a virtue.
Everyone who says this lives up north. Yet another reason why living in a warmer climate is bad for you. :D
avatar
skeletonbow: but to be outraged or angry is a tad bit of an overreaction IMHO.
It's not an overreaction, it's a hobby.

Fenixp: Well sure it costs time, don't know what about you, but when I care about something, I make time for it. And the moment you get it working the way you like it to, you won't be reliant on a store which focuses on luring as many clients as possible (which basically means becoming DRM-free version of Steam) and instead will only get to use what you like and what you set-up yourself.

Personally, I take far more pleasure from what I create than from what gets auto-generated for me. And when you use specialized software, everything is under your control - but it takes more effort, true. But don't blame me if I stop taking you seriously the moment you say "I refuse to put effort into what I want," because at that point, it probably wasn't so important to you in the first place.

YaTEdiGo: That´s supposed to be sophism, right?
Using "smart" words wont shift a discussion in your favor.

Fenixp: No, I presume you don't particularily care whether or not I take you seriously. It's supposed to be what I think, and I guess you care about what I think since you're still communicating with me.

Anyway, in the meantime, I've tried out GCStar, Game Collector and Game Catalog software because I actually got interested in whether I can create an offline library of my own - GCStar actually seems awesome, but can only fetch information from MobyGames for some reason and you have to add box art manually. Game Collector, while paid, is great at automatically getting info - but the UI is terrible, and shelf display is extremely low-res for some reason. I might end up making it a challenge and start writing one of my own. Hmmm, now there's an idea...
Good, nice stuff. But I cared about my library on GOG. Now is just gone.

Using the right words does, please search some sophism synonyms and illustrate me, I hope "synonym" would not be also a "smart" word for you...

Right now it's snowing here.
I didn't even notice that they changed the library until I saw tons of people complaining about it.
Don't see any reason for the outcry really...

I know what sophism is, it's just that the way you used it in the comment seams to have no real meaning beyond showing of your vocabulary. Which is why i used quotations on the word smart. It's out of place and looks pretentious.

Raining here. I found a great solution for both problems though.

1) Don't go outside ever if it can be avoided in any way.
2) Play video games.

:)

Good idea. I won't go outside, and my donkeys will starve to death. :P

Sorry, but NO, cope with your ego problems with other people.

nice that the wishlist has around 700+ votes already in such short time shows that people loved the old one

YaTEdiGo: What the hell you did with the library? I am so happy with the website lately, but please, don´t do these things, I have the games organized in my OWN WAY, and now I can only have them organized by title and purchase date...

SERIOUSLY...
You can add your own, custom tags and then filter by them - it's actually pretty cool!
(once you take the time to set up all the tags...)

Or, traditionally, people hate any kind of change.
