Tyrrhia: Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it turned out they had a hand in that. Hello Games isn't really a clean company: the Steam version of Joe Danger 2: The Movie has been broken for more than two years and a half, and they still haven't done anything about it. So attempting to cover an honest review potentially harmful to their business is just a next step in the bad direction.

omega64: What happened to Joe Danger. I only know of issues with the achievements.
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. One might say that it's a minor thing and I would agree, but they acknowledged the issue just a few days after the thread about achievements was created (link), asking the users to send them details about the issue, only to totally ignore them afterwards.

Shadowstalker16: But we still got no proof of involvement with DDoS-ing though.

It would be much more PR suicide to hire underhanded DDoS-ers.
Direct proof would be nearly impossible to get when you hire someone to do the hacking for you remotely, i don't think they are so stupid to use their own servers to do it

However looking at recent development in the past years and remembering some facts bout sony, plus the absolute carped bombing they have done in trying to cover up No Man Sky preview or leakage of any kind, this would have been a pretty logical next step

While not direct proof of an attack, let's see how usually sony manage failures and marketing, starting with recent and so so recent things:

10 Biggest Sony Fails: http://arcadesushi.com/biggest-sony-fails/
Scientist Man Analyzes Ghostbusters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWROBiX1eSc

I the spirit of the second above, but a more...direct video, not as "polite"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-YwMACD4sw

The first show how bad sony manage marketing and product placement, while a little generic their method can be mostly referred a brutal and ineffective, with little substance to usually back their claims

The second is another of their product placement ideas, not the first time they try to pull of something like this either, others bad film sponsored by them where carpet bombed as well, but in the end, bad review for mediocre movies, just like this ones:
http://fortune.com/2015/08/14/studio-box-office-sony-2015/

Let's also not forget how many time sony has been hacked and their customer database plus mail was compromised, twice

If there is one thing sony learned is that a bad preview will spoil your marketing and your revenue,it's inevitable, and knowing legal action won't work to silence an honest review, what other option you have so close to a massive launch? A game where sony invested so much in?

With the two suffered hacking, they learned how much damage these attacks can do, their PS network has been shut down at least another time using a similar method a few years ago

As i said this doesn't prove sony are behind the attack, but frankly, given the timing that can be calculated based on jim sterling facebook page, and sony aggressive product placement + lies + attempted misogynist bull ad, it's actually quite credible

Maybe the next time sony get hacked we will see some e-mail regarding this, for now their behavior and marketing methods + extreme convenience and timing, are quite suspicious to me

Also, after the game come out, this "confession" get published
http://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-maybe-isnt-the-game-you-imagined-says-hello-games-founder/

Maybe someone will really like this game no matter what, but the marketing for this game ended up portraying it as an adventure game of sort, a journey toward the center of the galaxy, something this game doesn't seems to be

Emob78: Why not just promote the game as a chill-and-relax space sim with some light combat and trade mechanics? Why try and push it as the next best thing to sliced bread?
Maybe because regionally-priced $66.09 would seem a bit steep for a chill-and-relax space sim?

Yes but Sony even if it did engage in this wouldn't do legal takedown for the other leaks and a DDoS for Jim alone. And ofc if it can't be proved beyond doubt that Sony had a role in this, they aren't legally liable to pay compensation / be fined.

Shadowstalker16: Do we have proof of Sony's / Dev Studio's involvement?
You wouldn't say that if you knew what's been going on. Sony Entertainment has been going around giving copyright strikes to any Youtuber that they find simply talking, that's right, talking about pre-release details of No Man's Sky. People simply reading from the patch notes were landed with a video take-down and a strike. This is a complete abuse of the copyright takedown process. You can read a case here.

Sony Entertainment and No Man's Sky abuse

People are allowed to talk about what they want whether anyone likes it or not, unless it's a call to incite as that isn't protected under free speech. Of course, if a Youtuber includes gameplay footage and music from the game, then that's a different story, although still unfair especially if it falls under fair-use, like doing a video-game review.

Anyhow, doesn't Jim Sterling have other social network accounts? What did he say?

What about Twitch? I spent a few hours yesterday watching a front page stream about NMS, and the streamer did say that it was an official PS4 endorsed stream of the game. So I'd say the ban has been lifted with the game's release, even if the game still isn't out for PC.

The sony hacked database and e-mail, that happened twice, is confirmed news, did they payed compensation to their customer for the stolen data? Suffered any effective legal action due to this?

No

Did they at least fix the damn thing, or say they were officially sorry, like really sorry?

Considering they got hacked twice with pretty much the same method, no

So if you expect compensation for this, where fully proved thing got nothing, even if they are involved....forget it

In my post i briefly wrote, because there is much more, so much more possible things that can be said about sony bull, what their attitude and behavior towards marketing and customer is, added to the timing and the quite precise attack, it's quite curious at the very least, suspicious even

Also about not censoring anyone else, remember the jim sterling review has been the FIRST official review the game got, pretty much everyone one else where still reviewing the thing, or some one like eurogamer decided to postpone it to get more patches:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-08-08-our-no-mans-sky-review-will-be-late-and-heres-why

Metacritic show how jim sterling review is pretty much the first one, that is not positive, 10 Aug:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/no-mans-sky

Everyone else, waiting

Also apparently more then a few people was mislead by the marketing, to add to the "confession" i posted above

I'm not sure about Twitch, to be honest. However, based on what you say, it looks the ban has indeed been lifted. But tactics like these, does leave a sour taste.

Tactics like what? "Please don't discuss our game until it's released"?
Sterling's review was posted on the 10th, which was post-release. It was also the first review, and linked around quite a bit. My guess would be that it wasn't a company that took it down, but other readers.
Either way, the site is back up, and Jim doesn't seem to think it was Sony trying to silence him. Feel free to believe what you want though.

It would be suicide on jim part saying that his review has been took down by sony or their goons without proof

So of course he couldn't say it even if he was thinking it

Also why should i not be allowed to talk about a game, or anything really, before it's official release?

None should have the power to silence me just because they don't like my opinion or my speculation, in fact the best medicine against speculation are proven, believable fact; sony however decided on purpose to not allow any kind of talk or leak, even minor, about the game, so of course i speculate, especially for such super hyped game

Isn't the reason why marketing exist after all? To speak bout things? If you as a developer/producer don't like what i am talking about, the above solution apply, not freaking dmca
What I've seen the game it seems there is only animals and some empty trade-stations,where you basically use some computer to buy stuff, would be nice if there would be some dialogue in planets, is there?
