I just want post this. Nude Maker is planning a Kickstarter campaign for NightCry, the spiritual successor of Clock Tower.
This should be a Vita and mobile only title, and if the Kickstarter fails, no PC version will be ever released.

Well, it would be a simple port from Vita, I don't imagine nothing special here. But better then nothing, I guess.

I think so too.

You have to dumb down to the vita / smartphone capabilities, no big loss if it is going to be a lousy port. We rarely see good games PC port if the focus is smartphone
They've just confirmed the game will be DRM-free on Playism, and they will look into getting the game on GOG as well:

And check out their kickstarter. The team is full of creative people, many of you that see the names on the team will recognize the games they have worked on the in the past. It is a horror game so if your are faint of heart or can't stand horror, well just beware when you check out the videos of gameplay.

If you can't donate to the Kickstarter, just spread the word. It looks like a good game, and not exactly in the same vein as Clock Tower or Haunting Ground.

Thanks for checking out this topic.
"Nude Maker"?

Uh huh.
Two 'early bird' backer levels in the basic tiers? I remember seeing doubts expressed about whether that kind of psychological manipulation backfires, given the negative feeling of either being pressed into a hasty decision or getting a higher cost just because of coming along later.

Gameplay video.

Still 9 days, still half of the amount required.
I have never heard of them or their games, it sucks that they are not willing to make the effort to bring the game to PC on their own, but if they did I doubt I would be interested.

Quite impossible then..
I liked the video though, even if graphics+gameplay don't seem very advanced.

P:S: I've never played Clock Tower

Hifumi Kono, the main developer of the project calls it Nude Maker because how people wear clothes, it may cover their true personality. So, his company tries to make things from the ground up and not worry about flash things being added. He wants great games that stand out on their own. Although, at first he joked the company was called Nudemaker because he required that his employees don't wear clothes. XD

He and his team have tried to get this game backed for five years, and finally got backing for the digital copies for mobile devices, ISO, Android, Vita, and others. He could not find backers for the PC edition.

You will be able to escape the ship, as seen in the artwork that was recently put on the page, confirming that Chris Darrilll, a man working on another game that was only slightly inspired by Clock Tower, is working on the project. Your character will be able to escape and find a way to shore on a boat. The Sissorwalker will be on the island too. But, at least the environment will change.

Okay, you can see more from the updates at the Project Scissors and plans from the team and how hard they would work to make the game fluid, good graphics, interesting game play. So please help promote or back the game just to try to get the game funded for PC.

I don't think the Project Scissors team will try another PC kickstarter after this.

Thanks for reading.

Oh, if you do play NightCry, I wouldn't bother hiding in boxes. In Clock Tower (2 in Japan) you had a 50-50 chance that Scissorman in the game would stab you through the box. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened in Night Cry.

You should, Clock Tower is amazing, it's also bloody short, it can be completed in one hour or so.

I think the Kickstarter was poorly managed. I mean, they added stretch goals for a consolle version YESTERDAY, why they didn't put them from the beginning?
The game, even if a bit clunky, seems really worth to me. I'm pretty sure they can find a publisher easily for PC/Consolle version if this will reveal good enough on Vita.

I noticed this project on Kickstarter before and it made me roll my eyes. While the team they put together is indeed talented, the campaign itself sucks. Particularly the main video is too long and doesn't do a very good job at promoting the game.
I want them to be successful but those huge boobs and awkward walking/running animations aren't really helping...

The extended gameplay trailer is awful. >_<
Showing a horror game and constantly talking over it.
