Can anyone else believe Amazon and Bezos were schmoozed into supporting what's no more than a gw2 clone? And to have no recognition of the issues with gw2. It's incredible.

I'm skeptical of any massive conglomerate corporation getting into video games. Because ultimately they are going to approach the game-making business not as creatives making art, but as a business making a product to sell, which always ends with the worst excesses of "game design by committee".

I presume "NewWorld" is some game development studio or publisher that is collaborating with Amazon, who is trying to get into the gaming area as well? Or something like that.

The game he's talking about is NewWorld, Amazon's upcoming MMO.

GW2 is Guild Wars 2, NCSoft's popular MMORPG.

Most likely Guild Wars 2. Have not played either but opposed to GW2 New World looks bland and boring (simply going by screenshots and seeing a few clips).

NewWorld devs are Typical what exactly? Aww. I was hoping it was Garden Warfare 2. The world needs more Plants vs Zombies. Although preferably in single player format.

And why should we want them to? I'm here to talk to other gamers and nerds, not to look at "important" people taking a leak.

But it always fails. They could make a lot with a few of us more insightful gamers (me esp.) Typical devs getting contracts by marketing and then inevitably it's failures . So that's why you auto-downvote me.

My impression was that it had flopped pretty hard when it first released, because it was much worse than both Guild Wars 1 and also World of Warcraft.

Did they ever add real Dungeons to GW2 (like the Underworld and Fissure of Woe from GW1, for examples), instead of the crappy mini-dungeons which was the only endgame content that initially released with GW2?

gw2 has nice parts for sure. But it was squandered and they went off on weird tropical tangents etc. They also like reddit, rewarded simp players while alienating casuals. There was never any listening. I really think they were reddit types etc.
