One could say that GOG Galaxy is a simply stellar platform.

These past couple of days have been full of good news here at the office! First, our partners in crime CD PROJEKT RED told the world that 4 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been sold. Now we’re here to announce that in the first two weeks almost 700 thousand gamers worldwide have gone with GOG Galaxy as their monster-huntin’ platform - more than all other PC options combined!

Headcount: Over 693,000 gamers worldwide
Volume: Over 21.5 petabytes of game and bonus content
Achievements: 3.5 million unlocked
Combined game time: 1,770 years (that’s 646,479 full 24-hour days)

See the video below for more stats about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com!

cyboff: Sorr,y GOG, IMHO "forcing" 700k users to use buggy beta product is nothing to celebrate
And there's that. I can see why they did it but they shouldn't have with the client in it's current state imo.
How many of those users are happy, that they got GOG code instead of Steam key when buying NVIDIA card?
This however... why does it matter? That's the customer's fault for not properly reading the product (video card) they're getting?
Congrats, GOG. Much deserved. I see this news is timed awfully well with the start of another certain, monstrously large summer sale...
Congrats but gog galaxy still needs some improvments. but still congrats great job :)

Sorry GOG but as you can see most of us are only here because we got no choice. Like most I am only here through getting Witcher 3 free with my GPU, when I finnish this game it's time to go back to STEAM.
I feel this is blowing your own horn a bit. Galaxy still isn't my choice of platform due to my steam friends not moving and there are still other overlay features missing. I would have said well done if some copies didn't boost the galaxy rate.

Still if anything it shows people like to be DRM free. Got both my Witcher 1 and 2 key redeemed on GoG and felt it was high time I plunged into a full retail release mainly because once I have the digital copy of a game the install takes faster than any optical disc.

Like most? I don't think there was THAT many of you.. if anything your probably a small minority and not really worth giving a damn over either since in your own words your loyal to Steam and that is fine but it also means your not someone any company would be interested in since your not a potential customer.

So in short being in a minority here and not being even close to a potential customer means no one that matters really cares.
The more I think about it, the more I believe that GoG galaxy was the right name, the right evolution, and the right future for you. Even if I have some disagreement with Witcher III, I really appreciate the platform. Keep it up !

Smannesman: How many of those were Nvidia codes and how many people think they need the POS client because it automatically gets installed?
I want to know that as well, far more interesting than the other 3 mentioned in the OP aside from player amount.

tfishell: Hint for Trine 3 at the end of the video there? :)

That guy talking in the video sounds like Jean Claude Van Damme during his motivational speech in the 1994 film classic Street Fighter. I was waiting for him to bust out with an "there's those want to go Steam and those who want to go with ME!"

Lol!

I'll always congratulate and be glad if GOG beats ... the other plattform.
But it's hard for me to enjoy that you are celebrating a client which is not even ready, full of bugs, missing features and is still adding this damn start menu entrys without asking me every timne I just start galaxy (without having any update for the game at all). fix Galaxy make it real good (still waiting for this pause download button), fix this annoying sorting problem in the library and THEN I will join the celebration!

Congratulations to GOG and CD PROJEKT RED; hopefully other AAA companies/titles will take notice and join the party.

...maybe I should give GOG Galaxy a try...

That's certainly not true. You really cannot tell me that MOST gamers got TW3 only because they bought a new GPU. ANd if you really like DRM and steam-no-service that much then bon voyage :)
