In the press:
"Guild of Dungeoneering is such an unassuming game, an anti-blockbuster if ever there was one. Yet it is one of the most interesting games I’ve played in months, and the kind I can see myself losing many hours to..." --Gamespot

Guild of Dungeoneering is a fun game with heaps of personality. The simplistic visuals might put some people off, but there’s surprising depth to be found as your hero levels up and your card deck expands. --PC Gamer
What about deluxe edition (with soundtrack)? Will it available on gog?
Is this game similar to a rogue-like?
I preordered Guild of Dungeoneering and look forwarding to getting off work and able to play it in about an hour. If anyone has specific questions I can try to answer, will post impressions.
Oh sweet mother of jesus there is so much bright white (Bright light! Bright light!). Playing this game in the dark will be really eye hurting experience.
I do understand that they wanted to use this style, but come on... It's a too much of bright white.

Let's hope there is an option to change it somehow (Yellowish color maybe?)

I advise people watching a gameplay video of it in the condition and time they usually game before purchasing it.
I for one couldn't stand it because I game with a small lamp in a dark and closed room and it makes me sensitive for bright colors.

the only options ive seen is for the Audio. I game in a similar enviroment. I suffered a neurological injury. among other things i have suffered from sensitivity to light. I actually got a Benq gaming lcd screen that ive found helps. But been playing this for a couple of hours tonight without any issues. Seeing as its turn based I tv as well.
Reminds me of the board game Descent: Journeys in the Dark by Fantasy Flight Games.

Except you're not trying to kill off the heroes.

Hmm... Nice to hear. So doing a turn and then watching TV negates the effects of the bright light :D
Anyways, thanks for confirming that it is playable to people like us!

- Btw how's the game so far?
deluxe edition is on Humble; It has the soundtrack. But hold on, it 20USD so no biggy :3

In regards to Users' "whaaah, I've got to pay extra for a game's OST" ;)

tfishell: Not bad, but I hope Thursday does indeed bring some great surprises.
DROIDWORKS CONFIRMED!
Played the first few levels and it's got a nice puzzle/boardgame/rpg feel that is surprisingly fun. You don't directly control your dungeoneers but use a limited set of cards (1-3 per turn, your choice) to build pathways towards goals, use loot cards to lure heroes one way or another, and place enemies around your dungeoneer. Pathway cards have a variety of shapes so you have to connect a tactical route towards goals (i.e. one level requires you to snake around to three different locations). Steering the dungeoneers feels a tad awkward initially seeming to require you place enemies to steer dungeoneers away or gain "loot" (loot grants additional combat cards/abilities) after winning battles. Sometimes you may want to burn setting cards to see what new ones come up but they so far all seem to just be corridors or enemy types so not a lot of variety. The battles are nicely turn based where you have a choice of ~3 combat cards (i.e. hit for 2 physical, block 1 damage, hit for 1 damage & get +1 health) and have a strategic difficult feel (my last 2 trials resulted in defeat).

You have a "guild" hall that you can build expansions on allowing you unique character classes, unlocking more loot options, etc. There's a trophy room for achievement like victories or a graveyard to see your defeats.

Personally I haven't found the brightness of the white background to be too blinding; it's got a blue graphic paper style grid over it to give a "doodle" theme that matches the semi-casual play.

Originally I expected a turn based reverse Dungeon Keeper but here you are on the side of the heroes in exploring the dungeon so despite the gamecard suggesting otherwise you don't WANT to kill your guild heroes (there is a rival guild that might come into play for blocking later, not sure).

There's no manual so while many aspects seem intuitive the game throws you right in (there is a brief tutorial level).

Heroes and loot unlock quickly at first giving a good sense of development/variety.

Best way to describe it as you are the GM in a D&D game combined with a CCG game.
Like undeadcow said there is only a brief tutorial before letting you loose.

When you upgrade your guild you unlock different charecters with different cards.
Also you research Talismans to assist them & build blacksmiths etc that give you different upgrades in the dungeon.

When playing each round you draw set cards & can play up to 3 per turn. These are dungeon tiles gold coins etc & goblins etc.

But after a few deaths & the graveyard fills up you soon get the hang of it.

Worth the asking price in my book.
wishlisting this for now... looks like something I would like.
There'll be a stream of Guild of Dungeoneering on GOG's twitch at 6pm CEST today.

Reminds me a lot of OotS's Adventure Game. In that card game each player commands one of the Order's members inside Durokan's Dungeon, but you never know the dungeon's layout because it is assembled as you go - take an unexplored path, draw a card showing the next room.
The game's rulebook was interesting.

Checked the Humble store: "Guild of Dungeoneering Deluxe Edition is provided via Steam key. For key redemption, a free Steam account is required to play."

Yeah, so I'll wait some time - maybe the OST will be available on GoG/as separate purchase somewhere else in future.
