Hi, all :-).

A random post here, but something I feel I need to say...

I worked in retail for many years and in my experience, customers were more than happy to complain, so a compliment was always a welcome change :-).

Anyway, I honestly had no idea that GOG even existed until the end of 2023... I was seriously missing-out.

My first game purchased here was Star Trek: Armada II and I now have over 300 GOG games in my collection. I am now completely DRM-Free, I haven't even logged-in to Steam for around a year and also got rid of the EA App, despite my last game on there costing me £59.99.

I'd had enough of being forced to login to prove my games were legal, even though the companies involved KNEW they were.

I haven't yet got all the games I've previously bought on Steam/EA, but I have replaced a LOT of them :-D. Waiting on Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge now, to name just 2 *fingers crossed*. My personal Dreamlist is extensive though ;-).

The whole point of this post is to say...

THANK YOU, GOG. Superb service! You have my admiration and respect for everything you do :-) <3.

Kindest regards.

A VERY HAPPY customer :-))).

DJMorpheus2007: Hi, all :-).
Nice to have you here. I always enjoy reading when people realize that owning the game (not the rights to it) is much better than being patronized by a mere usage license, which can theoretically be revoked at any time. Personally, I also find it much more appealing when a company I'm a customer of treats me as an equal and shows trust, as I do.

And you're absolutely right, people like to complain about this and that a lot, but many people are very stingy with the praise. GOG does indeed have a lot of issues, and some of the criticism is entirely justified, but I'm still happy that I can get my games DRM-free, and despite some justified criticism of GOG, I'm mostly very satisfied.

So I'll join in with your praise and just say "THANK YOU GOG"! :D
Thank you, nice to be here :-).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates what GOG do. I knew I wouldn't be alone, of course, I'm sure many of us appreciate the option to own our games and not be restricted by having to be online and logged-in to play them.

I prefer offline installers personally, with my internet connection disabled when I play, but that's me... Fussy and proud of it ;-).
Gog is not perfect with plenty of flaws but PC Gaming is better with it.

Nothing is perfect, I believe we start to realise that, especially as we get older ;-).

Agreed about PC gaming being better because of GOG, I just wish I'd known about this site sooner... We live & learn :-).
I also work in customer support (a career change is long overdue now...) and I like it when customers go out of their way to leave compliments and stuff instead of being Karens. Glad to have you on board with GOG.

Yes, they're not perfect, and a lot of the times it feels like they're holding back for no reason or shooting their own foot. But the fact is the games are ours thanks to them, and we don't have to be pirates to enjoy that.
I concur for your appreciation towards GOG, and I envy you for having over 300 games in under 1,5 year you are subscribed!

Less envy and more fun while playing. That's why I'm giving you a little gift from your wish list. ;D

To be honest, the pirate hat wouldn't suit me anyway :'-D. I prefer my New England Patriots cap... I may be British, but my preferred sports games are from 'across the pond' ;-). American Football (as we call it) being my favourite.

Such an amazing gesture... Yet another reason to love this place, seeing someone gift another member a game like that :-).

Gamers we are, gamers we will always be ;-D.

Thank you for the gift, man, that was totally out of the blue!! Thank you!!
Being confronted with the realities that nothing is perfect and that nothing can last forever had made me more appreciative of the little things in my life

I suspect there are many of us like that.

I have a phrase I've used for a few years now, when things don't go according to plan, or in the direction we want...

"Such is life."

Served me well so far :-).
