Find out what makes you click.

Pointing at things is rude, unless you click on them too, gran always used to say. Not that adventure game heroes are strangers to rude behavior. But when you got ghastly murders to solve, magical kingdoms to save, or a hot girl to conquer, you are allowed some mischief.

Not to worry, though, it will all be worth it in the end. Just keep calm and put everything in your inventory.

The Midweek adventure games Sale ends January 19th, 11 PM UTC.

I prefer hot boys. Am I also allowed to point and click?

dtgreene: Of course.

Would it be OK if the hot boy turned out to be twice your age or older?

...
Ahem...I'm 74...
No worries, the relative age difference will decrease over time.

So did the plan to include Shovel Knight (which was on the main page discounts section without a discount) fall through? I think I'm ready to buy that game now, especially given that I'm on a platforming kick ATM.

That doesn't quite answer my question. Would you be OK with a 148 year old hot boy? (It sounds like some of the games are about Dracula, who by some accounts is even older than that.)

Yes, I am being a little silly.

Yes, I am being a little silly.
As long as the boy isn't a vampire -> too pale,
and not a mummy -> too many moths in the wrapping.

I also came to respond to Gog's awful comment there. Where are all the games with hot men to conquer and mark as my own? Gog needs to get to work on that...

As to 148 year old hot boys... what, you've never been with elves? A bit waifish for my tastes, but they're always clean and smell good (and taste good too). I recommend waiting until 200+ though. That's when they get their magic license.
hmmm
Silently added to the Midweek Sale:
Ceville (75% off)
Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry (15% off) - Matches GoG Low
Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry Artbook & Soundtrack [DLC] (15% off) - 1st Time Discounted on GoG

Well, at least we now may have wet dreams about a guy named Larry.

Blackguards, a TBT game, is now considered an adventure? Did we mess up and mean to add the other Schwarze Auge games?
Edit: Nevermind, the Dark Eye adventure games re there... huh...

mintee: pretty nice sale, is it a good thing that i have most of these titles? lolol

anyone know if Syberia 3 has worked out all the bugs that the reviews have blasted it with?
Also have most of the games i like, some of them turned out to be a little meh after i played the game:

Items you own:

bad game
Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders

Unforeseen Incidents
this game is weird, the way the character walks with his legs that are way too long
and the 'motion' how they move its , 'different' not used to play games like this so it ended up the shelves

My Brother Rabbit
okay

Syberia / Syberia 2
good

Kim
another "different" games, played it but it is a slow starter takes dozens of pages to read, click and click ... gets me crazy... do uninstalled it and hid it on the shelves

good games
played demos, retail versions and now the digital games , very good games.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart
Nightmares from the Deep 2: The Siren's Call
Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones
Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride
Grim Legends 2: Song of the Dark Swan
Grim Legends 3: The Dark City
Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek
Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood
Enigmatis 3: The Shadow of Karkhala
---------------------------------------------------------

Average

1954 Alcatraz
A New Beginning: Final Cut
-----------------------------------------

Blackguards Special Edition / Blackguards: Untold Legends

Awful, cause the engine is too heavvy on resources, the graphics look like she ites
it doesnt play fast takes too much time etc etc... got it first at steam at sales ( awfull game)

Caravan : game looked promising but playing is not what i expected, awfull game, hidden on shelves

Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today
game looks okay, effects are giving sore eyes, game hidden

Lamplight City: good game

Deponia
Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia
Deponia 3: Goodbye Deponia
Deponia 4: Deponia Doomsday

Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes & Edna & Harvey: The Breakout
good games:but the java stuff is always giving trouble after java had updates
so the game is using wrong program language and the 2nd game is cpu bashing

Not played

Gomo
Still Life
Journey of a Roach
The Night of the Rabbit
The Whispered World: Special Edition

---------
The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav / Memoria
Good game but its obvious a large screen will make the game look better

Randal's Monday:
meh

LynetteC: Any chance you can make the primary tag of HOGs 'Hidden Object' rather than 'Adventure' please? I have no interest in HOGs and don't really want to have to check every damn game on the list to see if I want to buy it!

Thanks.
Steam has many 'mistakes' regarding tagging games, i dont mind HOG, but Steam tags many games as HOG because they have one scene that has hidden objects, this way when i am filtering i get too many action games, platformers because it has one scene where you need to find objects.

Anyway imo point and click games are point and click to find objects and combine them or use them, and they should not have action scenes in it...problem is many games have added many different things to try to sell it to as many gamers as possible, i dont fall for that trick thats why my list of hidden games on steam is huge, best would be to block entire developers, some devs only develop action or hog games or fpp games, it would be easier if we could block them and prevent showing all the games they released.

The Whispered World: Special Edition

Since you still haven't played this game, I feel obliged to warn you about it. In a nutshell, it's frustrating.
I am all for adventure games, it is my favorite type of game since I was much younger and I own (and have played) a huge amount of the classics and modern ones. Also, I am a very patient gamer. I do not quit or feel let down by a game easily, I let myself get used to them for some time and if I still do not feel ok then I uninstall.
Having said that, this particular game made me feel "tired" right from the start.
-I've read people complaining about the protagonist's voice. Yes, it is boring and it doesn't really make you feel ready to move on with the next challenge because it is always sad and blue. I eventually got used to it but I wouldn't mind if he didnt't speak at all.
-Moon logic. Lots of it. In fact, I am trying hard to remember a few puzzles that could be solved logically.
-Hot-spot interaction a la Curse of Monkey Island, a.k.a. the "verb coin". In Monkey Island 3 I remember never having trouble with it, but here it always felt a little distracting and tiresome. (Or maybe it's the fact that many years have passed since Monkey Island 3 came out and I remember it fondly due to nostalgia).
Conclusion? This game managed to get me fed up and say "ok, that's enough". I literally felt tired. I managed to get to the 3rd or 4th chapter I think. Then I uninstalled the game and watched the rest of the gameplay on youtube. After watching it I felt happy because I saved lots of hours to do other things.
Please note that this is my personal opinion and by no means do I intend to prevent anyone from buying / playing it. I just described my personal experience playing it as objectively as I could.
