Ancient-Red-Dragon: This seems to be the first time in years that Daymare: 1998 has been discounted on GOG.

I was beginning to think that the devs had literally forgot that they had released that game here.

allope: I think the sequel is coming out sometime soon, so maybe it's a sign it will come to GOG...
avatar
SCPM: Another day without a new release? I guess the GOG Weekly page is gonna be small this week. =\
avatar
allope: Lust from Beyond and Powerslave Exhumed are coming out tomorrow at least...
Kind of glad the M version is coming here, since the original does feature tentacle rape and I have seen how GOG commenters feel about that. I guess I'll buy it, even though I have the unrated.

Ice_Mage: What I coincidence. I'm also wondering whether to re-buy Sanitarium.

I'm pretty sure I still have my CDs, though one of them was scratched (the store sold it to me in that state). I was only able to see the ending once, after many attempts. Not that it matters now, since I don't have an ODD anymore.

I loved the game back in the day. I tested it more recently, and there doesn't appear to be any way to run. I found that really grating considering how slowly the protagonist moves.
I'm also wary of the system requirements note that says it needs AMD drivers 13.4. I have no intention of installing drivers that ancient. They might not even support my card. I guess if it doesn't work, I can just ask for a refund.
Oh wow i had the slow walking phased out of my memory banks. But it instantly came back to me now. It was indeed a chore !
But yes it is indeed a very eerily charming game, with that signature touch DreamForge was known for in the rest of their catalogue.
Also i'm quite sure most of the voice acting was done internally since the same familiar voices are present in all their voiced games. Another point of charm for them.

Thanks for the AMD heads up. I had missed that detail but thankfully i'm on Nvidia :)

EDIT: Since i am waiting for tomorrow's release of Powerslave Exhumed, i will buy those 2 together.

I have a problem with censorship period and I admit I will when it shows up be voicing my hate of that M edition and the stupidity of the name with the M meaning confirmed factor aswell..That is if there is no uncensor/unrated patch hosted on GOG as yes while offsite patchs are okay they can easily be pulled sometime in the future or other factors like no really known about till way later from not that talked about

BanditKeith2: Oddly last I checked atleast on rig its fine even with newer drivers.. unsure if Gog/the ip holders are being careful or don't care
Thanks for the report! I'm guessing the note dates back to the time the game was added to the store. The issue probably hasn't been revisited since by either GOG or the publisher.

LOL. Um... sorry? I'd forgotten all about it too. It's wasn't that annoyance that stuck with me. On the bright side, I found the voice acting and the characters as appealing as ever. Well, except for that boy and his story about the cat. Even the ancient 640×480 resolution didn't seem that bothersome on my widescreen monitor.

I am unsure whats up I just am aware it works on my rig without any trouble that I am aware of despite far newer drivers .. So my guess is like how some games had literally the details from the O.G release and Requirement haphazardly copy and pasted with afew added changes here or there .. that and maybe the note was for people wanting to game on closely matching hardware or the like.. I can say for example I own a game that on Gog still has the details from release spouting Pentium 2 as cunning edge and fast gaming despite that bit of tech is how old now? Ya my piont is I think cases like you listed might be a similar note of copying and pasting.. that or maybe its some built in compatablity mode or something in Windows 10 .. I honest am not sure whats up as I have never screwed around with any games codes nor got third party software to make any game work or change anything like that.. they have all worked out of the box for me outside of 2 examples
high rated

Subterrain is pretty good, a real indie pearl. I can recommend it deeply if you like smart games.

I didn't even know that page existed before he pointed it out. Very handy to have, seeing how often the news section flies by. Bookmarked it.

I just finished it. I posted about it in more detail, but the gist of it that there were some glitches but it was largely playable.

No, Sanitarium was released in 1998 and AMD drivers 13.4 are from 2013.

Eh that last bit was a mix of tired and poor phrasing as I assumed a possible rerelease without a ''new edition'' tag of sorts happened that the drivers was stated as needed or something .. But fair enough on pointing that out my bad for the poor phrasing prior as I basically assumed some rerelease or possible they knew those drivers noted was compatable for sure but not sure about anything further.. that's basically what I meant .. As I basically em unsure when this game showed up on Gog or if the page was touched after among other things

Same for me, hence my remark about "well hidden". Like removing the posts from the news feed, often within less than 24 hours, even for still running promos... It's amazing how hard GOG tries to avoid additional sales.

Seriously. where is the link for that on the main page?
