SWAT, AMID EVIL, Soldier of Fortune, and A LOT of bullets

Want to get a shot of adrenaline to turn your week around? Missing out on some robust FPS games?
Midweek Sale will provide a whole range of games for all you, thrill seekers!

Let’s start with some classics! It’s hard to imagine any shooter sale without Soldier of Fortune (-35%), SWAT (-35%) or FEAR (-75%). Make sure you don’t miss AMID EVIL (-20%), STRAFE (-20%) and Project Warlock (-33%), which will bring you back to the good old days with their retro-styled atmosphere.

In case you’d prefer to grab yourself some modern hits, try S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (-70%) or Metro (-75%) series. Or go brush up on your killing skills with these action-packed and dynamic twin-stick shooters, like Hotline Miami (-75%), Neon Chrome (-65%) or JYDGE (-65%).

The Midweek Sale ends July 20th, 10 PM UTC.
Now this is a sale that interests me. I'll recommend Unreal Gold and Serious Sam FE+SE. I know Area 51 2005 fps is freeware, I wonder if it'd be worth having here for 5.99. (or something like, with a FEAR3 release, buy it and get Area 51 + Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy - also freeware? - added to account for free) Also need CoD Warchest. And Dead Space 2 and other EA games on Steam. And Serious Sam 2.

I'd be tempted to go for the Soldier of Fortune games but... not at that discount for all three (even if the third is considered inferior). Next time, Gadget. Next time!

edit: Did buy Red Faction + Red Faction 2 though. ~$5 for both vs. ~$20 for all 3 Soldier of Fortune titles was something I could justify with the current budget.

If I knew how to fix variable mouse sensitivity in FEAR, I'd recommend it.

Otherwise, Unreal Old, UT GOTY, Painkiller, NecroVision, and Serious Sam TFE & TSE are worthy a recommendation. MOHAA is ok-ish I guess?
Oh fantastic another sale, let's see what's on offer ! SOF:Payback, Strafe, FEAR 2 and Necrovision....no thx i don't want those, bad luck again.

ChrisGamer300: ...Necrovision...
For quite some time I started to think I was alone or just crazy to think NecroVision just... isn't good. I think it has a few decent ideas in it but it's a really mediocre game on the whole.

I've said this elsewhere but I still believe that The Farm 51 scrape by on delivering games with maybe 1 cool idea/concept in them and then mostly get a pass for the rest. Their chopping up of Painkiller HD into "DLC" pieces for what was normal game content in the original release was something that's hard to forgive as well.

I would rate the gameplay 6-7/10.

What is awesome however, is the setting.

SPOILERS INCOMING!!!!

WW1 with undead, vampires, dragons and demons. Still have yet to see anything like it. Steampunk Vampires, dual-wielding sub-machine guns being the ancient race making constant war with the demons and keeping them in check while slowly losing over the centuries? A single Necromancer from among the humans destined to be their savior with the help of the power of an ancient gauntlet inhabited by the spirit of one of the greatest Vampire warriors? Fighting germans while both sides are being assaulted by undead enemies and dragons are chasing WW1 fighter planes above your head?

YES PLEASE :O

At this price, it is a steal.

Yes that is the conclusion i have drawn too and i been watching this particular game but nothing grabs me, the shooting isn't particularly good, setting is cheesy, level design poor and so on.

I know it's cheap as dirt but the question i ask myself is: Do i need it. My days of collecting every piece of crap i came over just because it's cheap has been done for a long time.

Can't agree there. I mean, I'll give it a point for not being set in WWII because heaven knows we've got enough games milking that one dry at this point, but the game just doesn't manage to make it interesting (though you should've been the one writing copy for them - I would've bought the game based on your upsell but I still would've been disappointed after playing it).

All CoDs up to the Ghosts and Crysis 2 and 3 too! Also, Battlefiled BC2, 3, 4 and Hardline would be nice. And Far Cry 3-5 with addons. :)
There are many great games in the sale. I'm very much looking forward to DUSK joining GOG and being alongside AMID EVIL. And WRATH, of course. :)
So many games from my wishlist, so few money in my wallet... Hopefully, I'm replaying Blood with the NBlood sourceport to satisfy my addiction for FPS !

The last time I researched that problem, the common solution was to unplug all Logitech USB devices.
Interesting sale. The promo seems quite standard... anyway, can one hope, that one day GOG library get's F.E.A.R. 3?
