Elmofongo: Its not that don't mind publishers screwing over fans and gamers.

Its that I accept that this is the reality of gaming right now and fighting over it so far has been a lost cause.

stg83: Well it still sounds like you don't mind publishers getting away with bullshit like "Augment your pre-order" . You may think that complaining on the internet achieves nothing but this is exactly the kind of apathy these money grubbing publishers are relying on, but they are taken to task when people actually vehemently protest against such anti-consumer practices.

https://www.deusex.com/news/aypo-cancelled

As for microtransactions, the very reason publishers are getting away with it is that fans don't oppose it enough to actually make a difference and that is why Jim Sterling mentioned its important to continue highlighting the terrible practice of microtransactions in $60 dollar single player games instead of letting it become the norm for every AAA game release.

Instead of disregarding it as a rant to garner more views actually listen to what the man has to say because the general aggressively dismissive attitude of most customers like yourself towards microtransactions or other standard practices has given publishers confidence to shoehorn them in more and more games.

Enjoy the Silence, Feel the Noise
Well here is the thing. I am voting with my wallet and not purchasing any Microtransactions at all.

I mean shit wasn't that the answer that people like Jim Sterling kept saying to people?

I have not bought any Microtransactions so far and will continue to do so. And I try to purchase Complete Editions of new games if I can.

But appearently my choice to not buy any of these Microtransactions was all for nothing because appearently there are people that DID bought them, That's the only logical answer as to why Publishers continue to push them in games. Its not Gamer's Silence and the fact that EVERY Publisher is doing this is the reason why this is almost standard. If this was just EA doing this and people did enough ranting it would have been over or at least lessened to a degree.

Its like does people like Jim actually did research on how much these microtransactions sell in games like AC and Metal Gear 5?

Microtransactions to me is just the concequences of gaming taking advantage of the capabilities of online internet access.

Elmofongo: They do it to have content on their channel and get views :P

markrichardb: They do it because they love games. And for the views. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Youtubers are more than happy to admit Konami’s antics are putting their kids through college.

markrichardb: You're entitled to your opinion, bizarre as it may be. Where do you think you are right now? GoG is the alternative digital platform for consumers who aren't happy with the business side of gaming encroaching on the territory of its art side. It's not a shocker if the userbase is strongly against micro-transaction and day 1 DLC shenanigans.
No this anti Microtransaction and Day 1 DLC stuff is everywhere in the gaming community.

In the Escapist, in IGN comments, in Gamespot comments, in Game Informemr comments, I think there is plenty of that in Steam forums aswell.

Is there any chance that MGS5 will appear on GOG in near future?

Right around the same day as GTA V(in other words either in 10 years when everyone who wanted to play it already did so a DRM-free version gets released or never)

Dunno, considering how much the game is binded to online elements.
Next week on 13 MGSV Definitive Edition will launch for the price of 30€ on Steam, including Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Solid V and every dlcs released.
If you miss the base game or you are new to the franchise, I think it's a great way to play the game, over 150 hours of content and even more if you play MGO.
