What people seem to be conveniently forgetting is that the reports also state almost universally that the perpetrators were "severely inebriated" ("stark alkoholisiert").

Now I'm all for catching these scumbags and deporting their asses back to whence they came, but just let two words float over you for a second: "inebriated", "Muslim", "inebriated", "Muslim", "inebriated"...what's wrong with this picture? A tip - religious Muslims don't drink alcohol.

Much of the debate from the Nazi end of the spectrum (Pegida and the like) has centred around Islam and "how evil it is" etc. etc. etc. But how often do you see Muslims getting drunk? So who were the perpetrators?

But as usual, I see the usual right-wing extremists are letting rip here. I see my initial decision to leave this forum alone was vindicated.

Stay with us please. We're getting this thread down to solid information and reasonable speculation.

Welcome to religion, pick and choose what laws you like, profit.

You can't imagine how much I wished all the people that call themselves muslims in my area would be teetotalers like me, it would prevent a lot of problems from even existing. The "no drinking" rule is one of the rather good ones imho and exactly the one that gets ignored the most. -.- When it comes to alcohol, "integration" is working rather too well...

A pack of 1000 men committed 60 acts of... causing complaint?

Shouldn't basic logic kick in here and cause rational, right-thinking people to question this story?

Was this a horde of aliens raping native women in the streets, or was there a group of pickpockets having a field day on New Year's Eve?
i though that the best farmers in europe are poles but they are second. the best are germans - able to plough up all europe with just one cow

Hooooo boy... the players have arrived, stage is set, let the mutual up-and-downrepping commence!

Crosmando: Get ready to be called "right-wing extremist" by guilt-ridden Germans who need to point their fingers at others so they can feel better about themselves.
Fixed. Then again, that's the whole reason Europe is in this hot mess right now, isn't it?

Klumpen0815: You see how I'm constantly caught in the middle of national extremists and antinational extremists all following some kind of dogmatic rule set? Both hate me for not playing this game.
That's totalitarian ideologues for ya. Not a shred of introspection, no lessons learnt from history. Who needs common sense when simple defamation/disregard of opposing viewpoints is so much easier.
Came across this new article which I vaguely translated with Google:
http://www.rp-online.de/nrw/panorama/koeln-frauen-sollen-zu-fremden-eine-armlaenge-distanz-halten-aid-1.5669639

So now, the mayor of Köln is saying there should be a "code of conduct" for girls/women..... At this rate, skirts will be forbidden/banished next summer because "it could provoke sexual assaults".....

I'm really wondering how people can keep an "arm's length" in a crowded festive event......Victims blaming, what else.....
Isn't this behaviour of groups of men going around groping women in public kinda usual in egypt? I think I read about that specific problem during the revolution and what followed in egypt. In the context of how brave the egyptian women were that joined in the mass protests.
Come to think about it didn't a CNN journalist covering this get assaulted too?

Not quite, no.

Pockets of likely organized men among a crowd of more than a thousand people committed an in all probability three digit number of clear cut crimes, among them sexual harassment, physical attacks and theft. More than 90 individual cases were reported, the number is growing.

At today's press conference, Cologne's mayor literally said that Cologne carnival is as important to preserve as security measures against future incidents.

Oh, Cologne. It's all about the carnival. *sigh*

And the alcohol. Yup, sorry, I'm a teetotaler as well.

Cologne's mayor is DEFINITELY embarassing herself at the moment, but I doubt that the victim blaming will turn out to be this clear cut eventually.

As I said, there's a very odd culture in play here. Cologne carnival practically IS that incident at the central station, with the difference that the crimes aren't organised and the perpetrators are largely German.

Bizzarely, in Belgium we only go to Köln for the Oktoberfest, what's so special about this carnival? Bigger event/crowd than in Berlin?

Rincewind81: This is right wing bullshit and a lie! This stuff is going around in PEGIDA related Facebook pages and social media for month. It is a blatant lie. Everyone knows a closed down supermarket - but no one can gibe an adress - because theses looted markets do not exist! In social media refugees are also accused to steal and eat horses, goats and pets...
avatar
Klumpen0815: Thanks for calling me a liar.
I don't have Facebook and don't know anybody from Pegida (don't even know if it's related to NPD or central people).
Have you ever considered, that you are misinformed and maybe should look and check stuff for yourself right where it happens?
uh, how do you expect us to check your vague "somewhere around here a supermarkt was closed"-story?
c'mon, give us some details ...
