lets go out of the old year and in to the new year with an insane technical feat

That video was really cool! Yet another reason why we need to see Quake 1 on GOG!
That is crazy.

This would also have made my physics labs much more enjoyable.

What's an oscilloscope ? BTW, did I spell that right ?

Really GOG needs the entire id Software library! :) Doom is one of my favorite series too!

"An oscilloscope is an electrical testing device used to measure the frequency of an electrical signal over time, and display waveform signals in a graph."

You just made me more confused... Why would you do that ? :(

I was just about to chime in with this.

Seriously......WHY!?

I am sorry. I thought this explained it in a simple way. :( I'll just stop then.

You did a fine job explaining it. We just can't figure out why. :P I could see hacking one of those gigantic scoreboards or maybe the Goodyear blimp to play Quake on, but a "device used to measure the frequency of an electrical signal over time..." It boggles the mind.

hmmm. ok think of it like an EKG. it shows the voltage over a unit of time and takes that info and puts it in a graph form, so we can see what is going on electrically and if there is anything wrong. like there is a normal pattern we can see with the heart's elecrical wiring. if its not working, the pattern is gonna look different.

there is also this: http://www.doctronics.co.uk/scope.htm

that is the idea ?
doom and quake tend to pop up on the strangest of places

mostly done because its possible or to make it possible then because its practicle
