I've just submitted MADMAN for GOG's review. Let's hope for the best! The game is finished, polished and ready for release! Its all up to the GOG guys now. Keep your fingers crossed. - Dr. Dungeon

Good luck!
I've just added my vote to the wishlist. Anyone who is interested in the game, please do the same.

I hope it goes well, DrDungeon. Can't wait to put my hands on it.
Just got this:

Hi Robert,

Thanks a lot for your submission and your interest in GOG.

We’ve taken a look at Dr. Dungeon's MADMAN!, it looks like an engaging and addictive RPG with cool in depth mechanic and big open world.

Unfortunately, however, we feel that the game would not be a good fit for GOG, as we think that it appears to be too niche and a bit too small in scale in terms of production value for our core users, which means that we aren’t confident in its release potential on our site.

For these reasons I’m afraid we will have to pass on Dr. Dungeon's MADMAN!

If you have any other games in the future that might be a better fit for GOG, please let us know, and hopefully we’ll be able to work together.

Because GOG is just clearly packed to the brim with big budget AAA releases, right?

You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Sorry to hear that Dr Dungeon. I was hoping I could buy your game on GOG, but I guess we'll have to take our business elsewhere.

Yeah, that's very disappointing GOG. Looks like you don't really know your core gamers.

Boggles the mind. I was looking forward to buying it here, but like you said, if they're not going to sell it here, I'll just buy it from the good doctor. I'm tired of GOG turning down games I'm looking forward to; thank goodness for Dropbox where I can store my DRM-free installers.

Lol curation.

Strange decision for a company that sells old Ultima games, indeed.
Will you have a website where this can be purchased DRM free, i.e. not Steam. If so I would be interested.
Now that's bullshit right here. Even more with yet another "social documentary" crap being released today.
I hope it will get greenlit, so we get to buy it somewhere at least ; or will you offer it from your own website ? Would be even better.

Pretty much.

Bugger.

I was really looking forward to playing this, but I wont be buying anything through Steam.

Disappointing reasons from GOG, I mean, there are some really poor games on here. A bit too niche?. Hell, there are a few really niche games here, and what about all the 'films'. For a start, I wouldn't call the Spiderware software mainstream.

Just take a look at the Indie games, plenty of niche games there. C'mon GOG, dont be so blase about what your 'core users' want. As far as I'm concerned, the core users here are those that want older games and games with no DRM.

I hope Dr Dungeon can get the game up somewhere else so we can buy it without DRM, maybe through Desura

This doesn't exactly encourage supporting GOG, I must say. Very disappointing.

I do hope you find a way to release this game, DrDungeon, and I'll be getting it as soon as it's available.

Considering that GOG sells the early Spiderweb games (plus stuff from the 80s), I really cannot see what small scale production values they see here. If there is any site where an audience may be found for such games, it is here.

You should just add a Humble Store widget on your site as a first step. As far as I understand it, they take even less of a cut than GOG/Steam and it's DRM-free so you have that taken care of.

Ultima is super niche apparently. All of us people interested in old style games aren't part of the "core audience".

Must be all the people that come to GOG to buy all of the newest Fast and the Furious movies and Battlefield DLC.
